Looks like retire from competitive marathon liao. Now transit to be ambassador.

His face and temperament is actually suitable to become worldwide ambassador for running. Something like a grand monk / dalai lama kinda thing but in the running realm. Confirm lifelong $$$ rolling in.

2025 SCSM sure come here, $100k appearance fee....and we'll have record sign ups. Dont even need to podium. :ROFLMAO:

After almost clocking more than 1500km. My Saucony endorphin speed 3 totally give way. The shoe is so good that it can be used for fast speed run , long run and even for full marathon shoe. It is also very light weight which is less than 230g. The best feature I like is the "bouncy" feel. Now I have to wear my old NB 1080 temporary and I feel it is so firm and stiff when landing on it 😞. Any recommendations for any long distance shoes that give "bouncy feel" and with wide toe box ?

Which version of the 1080 are you wearing ? 🤔

Version 9 . Bought in 2019..haha. but I don't think I run with this shoe more than 500km. I used it mainly for walking. I admit it is a very good comfortable walking shoes . I know now NB 1080 already v14. So I might be wrong that the cushion feel is still very stiff and firm for the current model. Already 5 years and shoes design and technology are different.

Version 9 was so many donkey years liao still can wear 😱

The version 13 is soft n bouncy unlike version 12.

I had also tried the Speed 3 before not to my liking.

So far in terms of cushioning n comfort, NB is still the best, the rest is firm n stiff.

Try Novablast 3/4, Rebel 4, Qiaodan Plaid.

Add-on: Anta PG7 旅步 if you like very soft cushiony feel.

Energy return not that great but still better than 1080v13.

It's not advertised as Wide but the toebox is roomy.

Only after a few wears, I noticed it says "2E last" in small text on the side of the shoe. Discreetly printed.

No wonder so roomy.

Matt mentioned got a 5k runner who only trains with 5k based workouts who last minute entered Chicago through his work (Nike) and ran a 2:21 FM.
Massive talent sia. Young fella, 22 or 23 only.
Rare talent. But he could be like Jakob, who though trained for 5km competition, but weekly mileage is like 170km a week during peak. More than enough base to do marathon if he is not competing for those sub 2:20 keyans.

Walk can?

Sure can, there are people who walk, but at a fast pace of below 9 min/km so as to make the cut-off times for the various sectors (usually the cut-off gets more and more generous after each checkpoint).
In order to do that, if you are planning to walk the whole route, most probably need racewalking technique coz that is the only option that can give you sufficient speed and decent (energy) efficiency based on walking.

Reason is that they will re-open each sector progressively for road traffic.

Yeah Jakob holiday run already 63 mins. (or so he claims that he is on holiday visit before the race, so we'll give him that benefit of the doubt)

Thank you for your recommendations. Novablast 3 probably need to go peninsula or Queensway to find liao . I read that novablast 5 will be out on dec 2024. NB rebel 4 is another one I want to consider as I read it is quite a wide toebox. I used to be a NB fan boy. Love the fresh foam beacon v2 and now also have a brand new beacon v3 standby bought few years ago. But then when I wear it for a 10km. It is so firm and doesn't give me the bouncy feel I want.

Ya I saw many channels pumping up Novablast 5 on YouTube.

Hope that brings down Novablast 4's price closer to $100s. 😄

Good luck finding your next shoes.
