meaning, if aged 40 and 50, harder to hit 180bpm?
I can hit 180 for quite a while at late 40s when I'm in cycling race mode. But need to recognise this is a dangerous thing to do for someone with age. So it is more of don't want to hit 180 rather than cannot hit 180. But of coz everyone is made different by the creator.

I recommend you to do a LTHR threshold test. Then calculate the zone based on your LTHR level (aerobic fitness level).
These zones will be personalized to you and more accurate. Using a generic age to calculate do not take in account of the personal fitness or his natural max heart rate level which can be very different for different people of similar age.
Yes, more accurate.
Young people can do.

Too little recovery time won't help at all and giving u false impression of resting. It will make u feel worse and u will tend want to push further thinking that u have rested enough. Actually the best is not to even hit zone 5 at all, so that you are able to sustain a longer distance hovering around zone 3 and 4. But u will feel awkward, like having to unlearn and relearn how to jog.
But for my usual runs, toward the end, I'm usually engine warmed up liao, pace usually get better, and when I try to slow down myself, I still find myself going back to usual faster pace.

Feel free to make adjustments. Occasionally zone 5 also ok one. Don't need to run until like want to die liao. I see some old men run very fast like they going to out of breath and want to faint like that. Really worry for them. Dunno who planted the idea in them that top speed is utmost important to good health. But see tortoise move slow slow but can live for so long.

theoretically, yes. But everyone is different, some at age 50s may hit 180s.
A 180 bpm max HR for a 50s year old isn't automatically dangerous, but it is above the average. If you're feeling fine and training intentionally at higher intensities, it may just be your personal physiological range. But if it feels off, it's wise to consult a doctor to rule out any cardiac issues.
Key word is if one feels fine

Feels fine vs internal health sometimes hard to diffentiate? Some people mind over the body can push de. But if suay suay blood clot when overstretched then that's it le.

ohh i see. I remember last time, maybe 10 years ago, I don't rest one, just fast runs all the while, most times I can see heart rate going 200 to 210 bpm.

But now early 30s, max range for me now 190 to 200bpm, beyond 190bpm lao hong liao

listen to your body and you should know yourself better than anyone of us here giving 3rd party advices
At 30s, you should still be able to push hard on yourself to test out where are your limits.

seriously if anyone has the fear of blood clot, then best don't do anything and make sure one has absolutely zero stress as many normal things can cause spike in heart rate.
alot of what i said is based on personal common sense. One should know himself better as we are all 3rd parties.

Higher intensity higher risk?

Because YouTube Videos always teaching runners how to improve their pace

For me I don't really bother about pace cause I run just to keep fit and enjoy myself.

What I am more concerned now nearing 60 is not to injure my legs.

YouTube also keeps showing that older we get we should do more strength training than cardio endurance. High cortisol and muscle loss might kill them faster for whatever reason/purpose they hope to achieve. Discernment is important. No need be superman all the time. 认老

Just did my first 10k, inner angle was hurting slightly during the run, is that normal cos not used to long distance run? Or possibly shoe issue?
Could be shoe, soft midsole causing deep depression, high stack height or over pronate over long distances. Ankle issue very likely instability and the above contribute to it. Change to firmer or lower stack height. If on the same shoes, reduce mileage per run in it.

Follow 80/20 principles if you are not on structure workouts. 80 easy by feel, 20 hard by feel. Even non runners longevity experts like Peter Attia are advocating this way to stay healthy and injury free.
