thanks for sharing. Guess despite running majority in slow 7-9min/km paces, i am still in a situation i need alot more such runs to attain z2 comfortably.

Actually just wanna ask, you do train your LT2 (zone 4 ish) and even VO2max right? even if once in a blue moon.... VO2max ultra short intervals also ok, even say "only" 30-40 seconds worth of microintervals, might just be 300m distances at your paces. Better than nothing.

still push to the limit at my last 1-2km in my 5 or 10km run. My yesterday's morning 5km, my max HR went up to 179 when i went all out. Couldn't sustain the push all the way to the end.

Last time during Covid lock down, but stadium were still open for those who want to exercise, I do encounter parents bringing their toddlers to the stadium track to play and walk the track. Oblivious to the fast lane 1, they were walking from grass to lane 1 and 2. But Nowadays don't see these things anymore.

Below, looks like happened in Malaysia.

It is still very common to witness this . The parents let their children play as they wish on the track . This is a running track . .it is not a playground..we also don't go to children playground to run .

Not only that .There are many joggers just walked into the track without looking out ( to their left) for runner on the outer most lane . I have encountered many times that I have to hop into the next lane or even use my arm to protect myself . A season runner will always look out first before stepping into the track.

There are always many inconsiderate jogger I seen in the stadium.. especially for a jogger like me who did 21km in a stadium regularly. Such as

3 or 4 joggers running abreast each other and blocked almost half of the 8 lanes . I feel like spitting on them when I have to run zig zag to overtake them . Even a group of safra running club members more than 20 runners at one time also able to run a single lane .

Jog or walk in a clockwise direction and looking at their smartphone.

Doing static stretches inside the track.

Swinging their arm sideward

Here’s a clear rundown of the video’s key insights:

---

🩺 Main Topic

Dr. Ko, a visceral fat specialist, highlights a metabolic factor that’s even more harmful than insulin—and reveals how addressing it can turbocharge fat loss and energy levels.

---

Key Points

1. Hormonal Drivers Behind Belly Fat & Fatigue

While insulin is often blamed, Dr. Ko identifies chronic inflammation as an even more damaging contributor to stubborn visceral fat.

Inflammation disrupts metabolic processes and triggers fat storage around the abdomen.

2. Symptoms That Signal Trouble

Signs include: persistent midsection fat, difficulty losing weight despite clean eating/exercise, unexplained low energy levels, and general inflammation.

Dr. Ko mentions a specific case of a patient whose labs appeared normal yet she experienced fatigue and belly fat.

3. Root Causes of Inflammation

Common contributors include:

Poor diet (ultra-processed foods, high sugar)

Chronic stress

Lack of sleep

Underlying infections or gut imbalance

4. Strategies to Reduce Inflammation

Dr. Ko outlines several actionable steps:

Anti-inflammatory diet: Rich in whole foods, healthy fats, fiber, and antioxidants.

Stress management: Techniques like meditation, breathwork, or yoga.

Quality sleep: Prioritize consistent, restorative rest.

Gut health focus: Incorporate probiotics/prebiotics or treat infections.

5. Why This Matters

Managing inflammation improves insulin sensitivity and overall metabolic health.

Reducing inflammation flips the switch on fat-burning mechanisms—especially in the belly—while boosting energy.

---

🔑 Bottom Line

Dr. Ko emphasizes that tackling inflammation—not just insulin—is the game-changer for beating stubborn belly fat and fatigue. Addressing root causes through diet, stress relief, good sleep, and gut health can lead to transformative health outcomes.

i think few factors leading to my current situation:
1) have conditioned myself to slower paces with more slow runs despite some fast bursts in the end
2) strength training inadequency or lack of
3) summer heat
4) less daily walks

need to restart my interval runs and more 5km within 30mins

It's not as bouncy and soft was my NB 2. But it still does the job for my recovery days when my legs are fatigue from the cumulative training loads for the week.
@xllms

Just did a 30 min recovery run with the new Eleos 361. Tapering a bit before this Sunday's Lazada run. As Ender mentioned, definitely not as bouncy and soft as Novablast 3. However, for recovery, it is pretty cushioned and stable. Really good recovery and easy pace pair of shoes while NB can be used if needed for higher paces.
