I think after SCSM then maybe my next goal will be weight loss. I think if I am lighter, I will run much faster lolIf not you can also ballot for the non-WMM marathons too. Lesser competition and can use the result to ballot for WMM ones.

Yes, Running weight, imo, plays a very significant influence on performance. That is why I think your potential for running still has a lot of room for improvement since your BMI is rather high and already can run much faster than a lot of us average runners.I think after SCSM then maybe my next goal will be weight loss. You're doing a lot more mileage than many people leading up to scsm. Hope it finally pays off when u hit your goal!
Thanks you. I also think I have done as much I can do for training liao. Surprising compare to last year, my training load is lesser by TAO. Don't know if they change the algorithm or not. Keep finger crossed for good weather, good form, execute planned pace, and then curse near the end.Jiayou Bro! Hope all your effort will pay off to hit your sub 4 target!
All the best for you sub 3 goal at Xiamen.Around 10 days to SCSM! Hopefully those that are participating have had sufficient training by now and start to taper for the race next weekend. For me I'll start next week as I still wish to do a short mix of hills and tempo workouts this week to try simulate the race conditions. But for sure the steepness at Gurkha Contingent are good practice grounds for hills, although not as steep as Sheares Bridge. I think one of the main differences for me this year compared to last year is the increased amount of mileage invested in and enough mix of different workouts to be able to sustain longer distances at quicker paces.

Similar to last year, I'll be treating SCSM as another long run session, to prep myself up for the Xiamen Marathon next year as hopefully i can finally get sub 3h there. As for SCSM, I'm aiming between 3:15 to 3:25 this year but another PB here would be good enough for me (3:35 last year), cause i don't expect too much under the weather here, to be honest.
That's true too, last year was quite challenging for me cause I just resumed back to running after covid and had to shed a few kg to get where I am this year.I think after SCSM then maybe my next goal will be weight loss. I think if I am lighter, I will run much faster lol
I think after SCSM i'll know if i can sub 3 next year. Mainly because I want that A pen LOL.All the best for you sub 3 goal at Xiamen.

Just curious, what gel brand are you guys planning to use for StanChart next weekend?Jia you!
I have always rely on the organizer provided Gel. coz I don't want to carry too many weight and I am cheapo. Another thing for me, I complete my run in more than 4 hours, to last this long is usually aerobic, I don't think gel works for me. Unlike you guys, who complete under 3:30, where you are working closer to anerobic, more carb burning than me.Just curious, what gel brand are you guys planning to use for StanChart next weekend?
