My last run was on the 12 oct . I have to run by sat or sun to maintain my fitness

Seem to me for the past days . The northern part of SG has the lowest PSI and PM 2.5 reading. I guess I have to drive all the way there (punggol) to run.

Just read that Great eastern women run for this year also cancelled. The date is scheduled on 1 Nov 2027. I thought the haze situation will improve by then
Same last run date. I bth already signed up gym to get access to their treadmills on Monday

you are making me feel like a spendthrift with shoes retiring at 400km and less 😂
Normal lah.

I also bought many running shoes when on sale. I still have a few brand new unworn NB elite v4 , alphafly 3 , adiós pro 4 , 2 X adiós pro 3 waiting .

Currently . I am still using adiós pro 3 ( my favourite) megablast as regular running shoe and adiós pro 4 ( probably going to be the racing choice )

Those following a structured plan for BYD is sverely affected by the haze. Because the month of October is our peak or race specific phase. This is where we train with race day specificty, i.e at 30km more run, MP pace training and more endurance speed intervals. All that while maintaining peak weekly mileage. NOw the first two week of October is my lowest mileage is training. I think I have give up on aiming for my goal for this race. Look for another A race next year.

Treadmill is the way to go without sacrificing your plan.

Before I was injured, I was using the treadmill quite frequently haha but the only run that I don't like doing on treadmill is intervals. At the pace I want, I scared I will fall off lol.

My main concern with treadmill is 5k pace or faster (16.9km/hr on treadmill). Since I entered HM training, I wouldn't need to worry about that until 1.5 months from now. Only then I will start to do faster 5k intervals.
Seoul (March) marathon is also first come first serve but 150 USD and must be sub 5 marathoner so for u is ok. haha
I will save Seoul up for when I am ready to go for sub 3 :ROFLMAO:

I think Great Eastern Women run did the right move by cancelling the race early and doing a full refund. If the race organiser drag until the end and then cancel last minute like the night before and worse, choose not to refund, then it looks terrible on the organiser themself.

We shall see with the upcoming Garmin Run since it's scheduled to be on next weekend.

I recently got superblast 3, still testing it out but so far, it's been quite comfortable for long run. I hope to get alphafly 3 next year after my HK HM

I managed to get gym membership as well due to the haze situation. I figured that if the haze improves, I will still go to the gym for strength training and conditioning, so willn't be a loss of money.

Great Eastern is big company, refunding is pocket change to them haha. Cant say the same for Garmin, since they already came up with Haze Plan and based on current conditions, seems likely to be 10k run.

POSB run on 25th also say if they gonna cancel, they will do full refund also haha

Yup, enough time for the haze to subside hor? Right??? :s13:
More than enough but if haze continue, maybe BYD marathon also will be cancelled haha. I think now our government treating this haze thing seriously, that's why most of the runs now dare not commence

Saw a few running in MBS mall over the weekend. Nice "straights" over there as well. If you do this before 9am and esp before 8am, generally nobody will disturb you.

I saw a specific runner at 6+am over there.....and when my kid and i returned at 8.50am, she was still there doing loops. The typical longer distance runner with running vest and soft flasks.

The AC is also shiok i guess. But around 8:45am they'd start to blast the AC and it gets really shiok. Before 8am, not so much, rely more on "last night's" AC leftovers.

What that said, i havent brought my laser particle counter meter to go check the levels there tho......

Just sneaked in a 12k easy run because the haze got slightly better. My god, the effort felt like I was going all out.

I have been doing all easy sessions 6 times a week, training totally unaffected in this sense. Coz of masking. (use the correct masks + good fit btw).
Only -ve is that it is quite uncomfortable, in the sense that it really gets wet under and around the edges of the mask contact to skin areas, though largely can ben mitigated if you change masks every 30-45 mins.
The breathing part is totally no issue at all, actually even somewhat sustainable for tempo.

But my last workout (LT2) was like 14 days ago...where i managed to slot in a workout coz early morning was still orange in colour and not red or purple (im using airgradient site). Affected in this sense.

Of coz if got $$$ to pay for a good higher-end gym membership that is not crowded even in today's context where gyms have high usage, then bagus lah. Talking about the type where you enter the gym and you straight away have access to the treadmill (or any other type of cardio machines be it rower or cycling or elliptical/stairs blah blah blah) and no need to Q. Plus nobody behind you putting mental pressure for you to finish your session asap.
