Oh I see. They would charge 10% based on the lowest revenue fare on that actual flight I suppose.

F. J should be around s$300-s$500? I know that they charge you 10% of the adult cash fare, but not sure which fare class (i.e. do they always charge J flexi fare, or do they charge you lowest available fare class like saver).

Sorry for asking a newbie question as i am quite new :s13:

My scenario

1) Waitlist for round ticket but only departure flight is cleared and ticketed (Still pending for return flight to clear)

2) Decide to check other date for return flight (one way) via redemption of miles, it is available to redeem.

Should i redeem the return flight (one way) as it seem the round ticket (For return flight) is not going to clear as the my departure is near

Will need advise

First of all, what's your class of travel?

Your already ticketed ticket is already paid for. Are you going to forfeit the return trip which has already been paid?

Btw, it's advice.

your waitlist will conclude 14 days before the flight. 2 tips for your future reference, (1) book redemption in separate bookings for outgoing flight and incoming flight (2) don't have a waitlist redemption as your only option, behind every waitlist redemption should a confirmed redemption, unless you are willing to forfeit the entire trip, or pay exorbitant prices for a revenue one-way flight (should your waitlist fail to clear).

SQ currently don't operate the newer A380s to PEK (unless it's an exceptional change of aircraft), so if you want to try the new suites, you should look for another destination.

old suites also hard? it's to PEK only leh, not like its popular routes like LAX, EWR or LHR... i see youtube videos the cabin always empty.. is it SQ hold inventory?

4 is easily possible to PEK or PVG, on old or new suites respectively. you just got to fork out for Advantage rates.

Looking for advice. If I have an existing award ticket and then a spontaneous escape becomes available on the same flight:-

- can I book the spontaneous escape award and then change the date of or cancel my existing award ticket?

- or do I need to change the date of or cancel my existing award ticket before I can book the spontaneous escape award on the same flight?

I guess my question boils down to whether I can book two reward tickets on the same flight with the same name and then cancel one of them.

I'd prefer to have a confirmed spontaneous escape ticket before changing the date of (or cancelling) my existing award ticket to ensure I don't miss out.

TIA

You can make another booking for the same flight same day. hence you should book the spontaneous escapes first (provided you have enough miles), and then cancel the existing award ticket (do note there is a cancellation fee).

Yes this would be the way, although the savers rate may not be available (fully redeemed) until you cancel your existing booking

The system is able to detect duplicate bookings. The system will auto cancel one of the reservations. You won't know which reservation is cancelled until you check.

Worst case scenario, is that the system will delete both duplicate reservations.

Hi all experts i have been storing miles and accumulating miles and then realized that I am still slow in doing so.
Just checked Kris flyer...needs at least 184k for business to new York.
Even Europe side also need 160-170k .

Was wondering using sq miles is there anyway we can check if partner airlines miles redemption is cheaper and where do we check ?

No sweet spots to redeem kf miles on partner airlines. Google krisflyer partner awards chart then u can see how much u need for each destination.

Jialat. Wonder can I accumulate enough in 2-3 years time for 3 tickets a not.
My wife has around 100k.
I have 50k.
Hoping to accumulate 3 tickets (2 adult and a 9-10 year old child)

Otherwise was thinking if just enough to accumulate for 2 adults and then spend the money buy 1 biz for my child.

That's what I thought might happen. Any idea how long it takes to auto cancel? Is there a USD$75 fee if the system cancels the ticket? Seems like I'm just going to have to try my luck and test it out when I have the chance.

The system cancels your reservations, not your ticket. When your reservation is cancelled, your ticket is still exisiting. Make a new reservation for your ticket, subject to seats availability.
