When PC boot up press Del key and u see a blue screen - go to harware health and see your temps. Hmm if Acbel e2 470 should be ok for 9800GT but if 430 u may be underpowered to run it

So the underpower is causing it to hang after some time of playing ?

hi there, currently facing an issue with my system that is almost 6 years old, it keeps restarting althought there's no error msg and i think it might be due to my psu as the connection point seems loose and when its firmly connected, it will still restart as mentioned.

since that is the case, im kinda considering getting myself a new system by scrapping the old parts and salvaging things like my DVD-RW, CD-RW & HDD. Do you think I can reuse my current casing? I was thinking to change it if its cheap since it has accumulated a lot of dust.

Can any experts here recommend what to get? Just want to use it for simple surfing/photo editing/word processing and playing some games that requires 3D graphics kind. Will be great to get an idea here so that when I go to the shops, at least I know what to expect. Thank you very very much!

Yes best is you unscrew mobo out of casing to lessen risk of bending evenmore so with Intel's push pin locking mechanism for the HSF.

I only have a budget of around 1k, would like to seek advice from you guys here on what parts to get, im thinking of going to Sim Lim square to buy,
but no idea on the parts since i long time nv touch IT stuff liao.

Hello?? YOu got $500 budget and you are still going for 8800? Come on, there are new GPU chipset out already. If you are a die fan for nVidia, go for GTX 280 series or ATI can use 4870 to compare..

I am sure both cards wont cost more than 500 but performance wise would be much better than 8800gt.

For example, Asus P5KPL-AM/PS is the name of the mobo It uses a G31 chipset. It supports up to a 1600Mhz Front Side Bus(it wil also support 533,800,1066,1333Mhz FSB), has Gigabit Lan (GBL) and is micro ATX (mATX)Micro ATX motherboards can fit in a ATX case but ATX motherboards cannot fit in a microATX case.

Hi everyone, I'm new here, heard that this forum offered great help, so I decided to join and seek some much-needed advice . This would be my virgin attempt at assembling my own desktop. I would probably be heading down to Sim Lim Square to get it assembled, after I get a rough idea of the products I'd need.

I'm an about-average game user, so I don't need superbly top-of-the-line products and such. My main purpose for the desktop would be for it to run most games like COD, World of Warcraft, Sims3 smoothly without hiccup, and one that hopefully would be able to carry me into the next couple of years - service-wise.

I was wondering if anyone would be able to list down the products (with prices thx) I'd need to build my desired desktop.

Currently keen on the i5 and i7 processors so if you could somehow fit that into your recommended list, I'd appreciate that.

My budget: $1400-$1500
