I am really confused about the 3 options..

Event OptionOption DescriptionDefault Option
1ExerciseNo
2OversubscribeNo
3LapseYes

Can someone explain to me

I don't know where you get this from but I am guessing it must be one of the custodian brokerages that you used.

Option 1: Exercise. You subscribed for your allocated units (and no more). This is not the default option.

Option 2: Oversubscribe. In addition to your allocated units, you may elect to subscribe for more units (subject to allocation by the REIT manager). This is also not the default option.

Option 3: You let your allocated units lapse. This is the default option. If you take no action and do not give your custodian manager explicit instruction, this is what will happen.

Why would default option to lapse? It’s not in the best interest of the investor to lapse isn’t it?

Broker can’t be held hostage to help investors pay to exercise their rights if they don’t action on it right?

so the default is, if you don’t want to exercise it by paying, then it should lapse no?

Some are concern about price drop to .72 after all dust settled. Well, nothing is impossible but what's the probability? I have participated in the 2 iReit's rights that took place of each other within less than a year a couple of year back. First rights price at .49 and 2nd right price at .595. At that time of the PO, both the discount was huge! Prior to that, my average holding price was around .70. Admittedly, the unit price didn't move much but with the access rights I applied for, I managed to bring down the average price to around .635 after both the rights issue. With the dividends received so far since holding the reit, I am still making money from this relatively not so good reit and now going forward, iReit's dividend rate is around 6% and since my cost price did not suffer, I can just hold it.

Lendlease, in my view, is of different class as compare to the like of iReit. With 100% JEM ownership and transparency in tax treatment, the DPU is going to increase. The 2 key assets in SG [313 & JEM] are quality assets. Potential pipeline in PLQ is another mall that always see high human traffic especially during weekend. The sponsor is reasonable strong and given time, I believe Lendlease can grow meaningfully and I hope in time to come, it can be mentioned in the same breath as the like of FCT & CICT.

Been having REIT,trust stocks for many years. Experience tell me after PO aka rights exercise completion, share price usually drop. But like what you say it give you a chance to average down since it is at a discount and no need pay any brokerage fees.

However need to know this rights exercise is for asset acquisition and NOT to bring down debt as I kena this from another individual stock I was so stupid to believe the document when the CEO of that company say this rights exercise is to reduce immediate debts and get the rights exercise monies for expansion and they have a lot of confirmed orders coming in what a WHOLE LOTTA CRAP! Painful experience. That stock share price is dwelling at 10 cents.

You can use PayNow.

Which is even better than iBanking IMO because you save $2.

You just have to be patient and wait for the letter with the QR code for PayNow application.
Anyone tried paying using GrabPay? GrabPay recognized PayNow QR code.... can earn point too. But not sure when to key in the PayNow reference number....

Been in SGX for penny stock and later REIT trust stock so my experience is in general after rights or even after announcement share price sure drop to compensate for the larger number of shares to be listed.

As for whether worth to subscribe I think it is best you read the documents yourself. Inside will detail the rationale for this rights exercise etc

drop after the rights issued shares start trading will not be surprising..it will only be a concern if it drops below the offer price of 0.72 me thinks

Logically it should not else ppl just buy off from SGX isn't it? You experience yourself more times you know the game. But not all rights exercise is worth applying those ask monies to reduce debt or for expansion without any confirm only vague beat heart promise from CEO avoid!

Better do your own due diligence because risk profile of individuals are different.

My opinion is huge price movement are usually triggered by institutional holders. If it is a huge drop, it's probably the major stakeholders dumping.

If it is becuz of rights exercise the drop in price is to reflect the more shares that will be listed in SGX after the exercise. With more shares listed of cuz share price drop it is logical.

E.g if there is a shares consolidation exercise say all 1000 become 10 then share price will go up since after the exercise there is lesser shares listed.

The other is like you say institutional investor dumping or buying that cause great price fluctuations.
