Caught the Dell Inspiron 24 7000 in real life at Best Denki.

Size of it to the wireless keyboard. Salesman were taking a break from set up, i cannot power it on sad to say. No Realsense action yet. :(

Side profile, the power cable into the base and it is the only cable you need!

Realsense 3D camera! Notice the big sensor which i think is the normal camera, the middle gear is the infrared projector and left is the infrared sensor

Standard pricing from Best. Dell also has another non-Realsense Inspiron AIO with quad core i5.

Wow. No wonder they couldn't install it on the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 because of its slim factor...

haha I am surprised too as boss did mentioned the first week keywords are no longer valid. I was still thinking that intel realsense and 3d camera are the main focus :p, turned out 2nd week are just dell product.

Only Dell Inspiron 15 7000 is the keyword now...

IIRC, there is no price different for FHD and 4K UHD model, so it is up to individual preference to select what they want. ;)
oh no differences in price? That is so unfair, then I rather opt for better screen, better resolution and also for future proofing.

Yes, I agreed, that's why i am amused some household talking about having 2k or 4k for 5.5" screen mobile phone can see the differences on normal usage~
Maybe Dell Inspirion 15 7000 with 15" can see the differences, I am not sure no sample sets
Erm... I always ponder, do they really see the differences or my eyes problem. Maybe my expectations on visual experiences are low as long as not blurred, I am fine.

As for me, I can tell a difference between non-retina and retina macbook. Text are jaggyer and pictures colour are more smeary. Dell useing 4k will have more pixel than Apple, and that is not bad when the insprion is more of a mainstream model. It is good someone is bringing good quality 2d Windows desktop for everyone

You can always purchase a cheap notebook + separate standalone Realsense camera for that....

But take note again for realsense to even work, your notebook CPU has to have at least Haswell Intel Core i3 and above.

I don't lower specs laptop can work with Intel realsense camera. Dell Inspiron 15 7000 specs with 4K UHD touchscreen can support but they are not going to include Intel realsense camera, not sure why.

Maybe there is a work around to get the Intel realsense camera to work with lower specs cpu~

Both Sony and Microsoft are using AMD custom APU on the core of their console... You think Intel will let that happen?

Last time google and found someone can use Intel Realsense camera with AMD cpu, not only restricted to Dell Inspiron 15 7000 or Dell Inspiron 24 7000 only

:s22: The higher specs of Dell Inspiron 24 7000 with Intel Realsense was not really affordable to many.

Do you meant that $1399 price no Intel realsense camera? seems like I would rather get another brand would be cheaper for similar specs.

Dell getting expensive for no reason. :s22:

For me, I will rather to go to get Dell ProSupport with accidental damages,
this will costs around $200~300 range for 3 years coverage for Dell Inspiron 15 7000 model.

Why Dell ? simple as 123, no one know better than Dell on Dell product. ;)

If my laptop very expensive i will consider as well.. The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 can consider coz the price of it not cheap as well

For that, it makes more sense to get covered than not to.

yup 300bucks+ for Pro support 3yrs warranty with accidental damage cover

but for mine case i will save 50+ just to get the basic 3yrs hardware warranty + accidental damage instead of Pro support + accidental damage. I dont need the Pro support all i need is hardware wty & accidental damage cover for the laptop. $50+ more than enough for 1 week lunch

For the price of the warranty i think is pretty reasonable to get Dell Products. If i get the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 to upgrade from my Dell Vostro 5470 i will top up for additional Warranty too

Good news for buyers of Inspiron 24 or Inspiron 15 with Skylake processors.

They will gain a new feature with Windows 10 update coming this month!

It is call speed shift and it gives a more responsive performance in daily tasks such as internet browsing or viewing photos!

http://www.anandtech.com/show/9751/examining-intel-skylake-speed-shift-more-responsive-processors
Is the faster response of Skylake Speed Shift (for Inspirion 15 or 24 7000) noticeable in real life?

Does this speed shift consume more resources or battery life of Dell Inspiron 24 7000 or Inspiron 15 7000 with Skylake processors?

If without Windows 10 , can Windows 8.1 or Windows harness the power of speed shift?

i think with the built-in battery, warranty will be very important.

something like the applecare would be great.

3 years full warranty at a small price.

I suggest you all to make use of cloud storage in case of accidental damage. Warranty is to help you to get your Dell Inspirion 15 7000 laptop back in working condition only.

With Windows 10 and the new Microsoft Office 2016, they have Microsoft OneDrive preinstalled which in my option is a very good back up tool when used with MS Office. Same thing when your battery dies, even though you have long battery life

You can save your documents while working on them onto the cloud so in case your laptop dies on you, at least you can still retrieve the document from the cloud to continue working on it from another PC immediately while waiting for your laptop to be fixed. I'm not sure how Dell support works, but from my experience with other manufacturer, their usual stance is "reformat".

I can't understand people who are able to accept thick and super heavyweight laptop in this modern era. Looking at the picture above my legs goes cramp already. :s22:
Sometimes no choice, it is the environment they are working in, outdoors, rough terrains etc. I believed the one in the picture most suitable for military usage.

Come to think of it, Dell can consider to focus on this area, military budget is usually highest in most countries and if they can come up with something for them. Huat ah.. imagine using coupled with realsense technology, 3d camera to detect enemies? Windows 10 with window hello for data security?
