something i just did (only works if you're still on kitkat)

Disable OTA Update on LG G3
If you own the LG G3 and have been getting OTA update notifications, there is an easy way to get rid of it through LG G3 hidden system settings. Just follow the instructions given below:

Open your phone’s dialer and go to LG hidden system settings. You can do this by dialing the following code, depending on its model:

Intl. LG G2 D855: 3845#*855#

Having entered the system menu, scroll to WLAN Test.
Select OTA Setting option and turn it off by tapping the Disable button..

Done! Now just reboot your phone. You have successfully disabled OTA update notification on your LG G3 without root access! Enjoy!

Well.. Why don't you just go to Setting, System, About phone, Update centre, Software update and untick 'Check and download update automatically'.

This option has always been there in Android phones since day one.

i thought that method still doesn't prevent the "software update" notification? :s11: idk, just asking

Go Settings -> Sound -> Notifications -> Lock Screen
set to "Hide all notifications"

or go to Apps to turn off notifications for individual apps

Off notification still get the floating message.

If turn off individual app notification I will not even get the unread message number on the icon. I want that just like old kit Kat

Damn frustrating this version :(

Hi all, my G3 has been updated to android version 5.0. May I ask how do I do a screenshot? In the past I would hold on the home button and there is a Quick Memo launch. But now the option is gone. I tried pressing the power button and volume down button but nothing happens.
