The Platinum is the most striking as it shows brushed aluminum details.

Finally can share my first-look review.

Love the flushed back without protrusions. Entire phone feels solid, to some, might appear too "safe". But among all the available material options, the use of glass back is still considered "unique" and more premium as opposed to metal back which is used too often even on budget brands. And seriously, LG is not going to do curved screen and blatantly copy Samsung. So going completely flat screen shows its unique flavour.

If you are concerned about design and looks, the LG G6 also has it. Is Samsung S8 curved screen better looking? That's subjective, but at least the G6 achieves the premium look and easy to handle thanks to its substantial thickness.

Official news out! 14 April @ $988 plus free flip case worth $58. Reasonable price

Im impressed. The launch price is 988, same launch price as LG G5 last year. I was wondering if they were gonna chase the 'premium price tag' nonsense and just keep raising the price each year.

Thank you for your wonderful review and comparison against other smartphones. Totally agree on the comparison against G5. I loved the feel of LG interface but sold the G5 due to the lack of premium feel. May I ask in your opinion, how do you find the comparison between the G6 and Huawei Mate 9? Particularly the camera. Torn between these 2 currently...

Thanks for reading my review!

I love the wide aperture effect on the Mate 9, it makes portraits so outstanding.

The G6 is superior for wide-angle photography. Even the front-camera is wider than Mate 9 and P10+.

My thought is that, bokeh effects or monochrome can be processed after shoot, but scenes that are not captured in the photo will forever be lost. I love wide angle photography not so into portraits, so I would prefer G6. But if you always shoot portraits or selfies, then Huawei Mate 9 / P10 series captures better effects.

Here is my review on the Mate 9 - 30 reasons to buy! http://musicphotolife.com/2017/01/huawei-mate-9-30-reasons-to-buy/

Thank you!! Hmm I'm definitely into selfies! Haha. Apart from the different features both phones offer, how about the sharpness and quality of both phones?

Nice review! Feeling so flat like a G6!

And indeed, curves are meant for ladies only, not for phones.... On the other hand, flat will not be nice for ladies.....
