Has anyone tried charging the G6 with other mobile type C charger? I tried charging with Huawei type C charger and cable but it doesn't charge at all after 30 min despite showing the charging icon on the battery. It does ok with the original cable but thought of bringing just one set of charger overseas...

Huawei Fast Charger does not work with many devices, unfortunately. Simply put, it is not downward compatible.

Don't bring the Huawei charger. Bring other brands, they should work fine.

i believe huawei's fast charging is proprietary, could be their charger has some exclusive thing that makes it work only on their phones? Maybe something to do with the kirin chip that is found only on huawei devices


aside from that I dont think the G6 has problems with any standard 3rd party charger.

I am using spigen slim armor casing. But it make the phone bigger than it is.

Less worry about accident though. Dropped the phone a few times without any damage.

Base on past incidents is 1 year start cranky liao, so still valid.
