Actually if they priced it higher like say XZ Premium or HTC U11 territory, why not? Since the original G6 already went down in price. Haha.

Does anyone use singtel and have their G6 always somehow auto connecting to singtel wifi

no matter how many times i forget the network it comes back, its pretty annoying when in MRT stations and suddenly theres no internet connectivity at all till I suddenly realise the wifi logo is back on and my LTE got superseded by the crappy singtel wifi

I do have the MySingtel app on the phone, not sure if it has anything to do with the phone stubbornly reconnecting to singtel wifi in public

Nope, that's what I always do as well, except that I don't charge overnight, since I charge whenever I can and batt level at around 30-50%. In fact, normal charge is easier on the batt, since generate less heat due to lower current.

turns out it doesnt work

even with the location scanning stuff off, the phone still finds the singtel wifi, saves the singtel wifi by itself and connects to the damn thing, with its bad signal and all

Mine does not have this issue. All scanning turned on, just notification turned off.

ya thats why i wonder if its the MySingtel app thats secretly doing the auto-connect, I mean I cant prove it but its the only singtel-related thing i have installed on the phone

actually i did some further lookup on the site and it mentions this

the part about being able to 'auto connect' to singtel wifi without a manual password login strongly resembles my case

Finally jumped the boat and bought a g6. Was deciding between s8 or g6 but went for g6. Disliked the curve screen which is useless and its a pain in the arse trying to find a simple glass screen protector. Saved myself around $300 too since s8 used sets are around 750-800 while I got my g6 used for 480.

So far the phone is awesome!
