What is the main difference between 6 and 6+ beside the storage capacity? QDAC too? Same sound quality?

in theory stock app already supposed to be the most optimised for the camera hardware, if it is considered slow, it's hard to imagine how anything else could be better

did you try any 3rd party apps like open camera to see how their speed fares?

Found out something further about the noise issue with the image processing on light sources (sort of like that fireworks thing I experienced during NDP)

notice how the yellow lamp post looks smooth in glow but the traffic light green is kind of smudgy

i suspect the image processing cannot handle certain light gradients

i used my monitor as light source, and made it display a granger rainbow

this photo is ISO 100, rightfully shouldnt have much noise

but if you full-res it and see the middle, some parts of the rainbow have that kind of jpeg artifact, the red-orange parts seem to be the least noisy to me. Its a very obvious issue cos its not like the whole pic is consistently noisy or consistently clean.

major issue nope... just have a lot of minor or irritating problem.. depend on how you look at it.. battery can last a day.. if you are heavy user prepare a PWB....

To me is just a phone as long can take good photo, signal strong enough, no hiccup or delay message... battery can last a day....

I'm moving from oneplus 3T to this for its expandable SD and wide angle camera. Will the battery life be worse off than 3T?

Should be more or less will be the same since both of them using SD821, you will get what you said and the HiFI Quad Dac.. the skin you don’t like can change from LG world download and apply is free... and 1 more thing about the AOD is about 1% usage per hour.. so after wake up have to charge full before leave the house..

did you configure the settings properly

Assuming you are using the app by Arnova, you need to set the 3 values for Config Camera HDR+, Model, and HDR+ Parameter, it really makes a difference in what kind of output is produced


last time I tried the app night photos have purple tint but back then i wasnt using Arnova's mod which allowed for the 3 settings to be chosen, in newer versions of the app, getting rid of the purple tint I believe needs a specific setting to be chosen


on separate note, after half a year, finally starting to see image retention on my G6, caused by always on display of course, at the moment its still very minor and since I dont use max brightness all the time the retention visibility is not severe

From my experience almost 6 mths using G6 as daily driver, it seems like a reliable, if unremarkable phone. It does everything fairly well, but not exceptional in any category.

There shouldn't be any more bootloop as those defective models seem to be confined to those using the SD808 and 810 processors, which Qualcomm screwed up big time. G6 also has a super efficient cooling system (probably the coolest phone I've used) which definitely helps with longevity, since heat is the primary killer of battery and processor lifespan.

I had try just now.. Photo not over exposed and less noise but a bit dark... Quite good in low light... Cannot ask more.. If pump iso in manual notice some part of picture will over exposed.. Depend on what we want.. Thank you..

Same here. The touch latency of G6 is quite poor compared to other flagships. Playing games that require a lot of fast swiping motion, its not as smooth compared to other top phones
