I also bought the 5years warranty from Gain City, hope their warranty scheme is good.

yeap the same problem but mine is export set cos gain city no sell this that time.

i would probably get another one from gain city if the repair is costly for my existing one after warranty expire.

I'm actually surprised yours broke down so many times... I bought mine in September last year & both units are still ok... Try to clean the wheels whenever you can to minimise the problems...

I saw this post on another website... Maybe you can try it...

I noticed the brush was turning very stiffly, normally it turns freely. On a hunch I unscrewed the side brushes (its quite easy) and they were jam packed with wound hair underneath. removed that, it was quite easy, screwed them back on and everything rotated easily.

Also I've noticed the little black rear wheels jam up with hair very quickly, I clean mine out at least once a week.

the axle part of the wheels can't be cleaned at all and the wheels can't be removed. it has nothing to do with the brush area which can be unscrewed for cleaning.

That's a different model from the one that I have... Mine is the squarish one... The thread I posted was for the squarish model the latest LG Roboking...

Any tips on how to clean the square roboking?

I've had mine since Feb from autovac. So far working fine and I only empty the bin weekly and nothing else.
It has completely replaced my manual vacuum cleaner and all I do now for my floor is to mop it once every 2 weeks. My floor has never been so clean in the last 5 years before. No hairs on the floor everyday I reach home after work. It also navigate through my 5 rm flat flawlessly 98% of the time. Superb!

The only 2 little issues I can find are :

1) there is a small little corner in my room which can only enter by a narrow path. Sometimes the bot went in to clean. Sometimes it doesn't.

2) it doesn't work perfect with dark shadows. Sometimes it will vacuum under my bed. Sometimes it doesn't as it recognise the dark area under my bed as an object.

I wonder if there's any firmware update to be done. So far no one from autovac has kept me informed regarding things like this.

Well... You need to remove the main brush to remove any hair that is stuck there as well...

Normally other than clearing the bin I will use a fine brush to clean all the sensors on the bot as well... After a while sometimes dust accumulate on these sensors & obscure of the Roboking... This causes the Roboking to function at it's peak... I will do this every month or so...

Another thing you can do is check the side brushes as well... If they are dirty you can use warm water to dip them in to clean them... Just unscrew & leave it in the warm water, if need to just lightly clean it... This one you can do like every 2-3 months...

I also wash the green colour sponge in front of the hepa filter so that it cleans more efficiently... But make it is completely dry when you put it back... Normally I leave it overnight before I put it back...

When cleaning the sponge I will also take out the hepa filter & tap out an dust that is trapped there... You filter will last longer before a change... And it will be more efficient because you removed the trapped dust there...

Everytime I clean the bin I also use a light brush to clean the sensors...

From all the reviews I saw, I think the LG Hom Bot is a great sleek design, functional and adequate but the price is still on the steep side (Expensive). I saw Mamirobot that is much more affordable and reviews from users states it's quite good. Any comments?

Still contemplating to part with my hard earned money...

Honestly just get as what you can afford.
If you willing to pay for Roboking square, I am really appreciated the design and software with clever + intelligent as you nothing to complain about it..

LG Singapore sells VR6270 LVMB

LG Singapore now list the square Hombot - VR6270LVMB on their website.
- if can sell in Sg....

Does this mean it speaks "English" now?
I wonder if our Korean speaking units can be upgraded
(saw a USB port inside the unit).

considering to buy robot vacuum

Hi,

after reading some of the reviews..I am still not sure on which model will be the most suitable for me..

my floor size about 130 sqm... mainly to clean up dust on the floor and hair.. not much other things on the floor.. the layout itself not much regular so need robot that able to navigate itself to cover up.. not much item on the floor thou, only normal stuff like sofa, chairs, etc..

so which model will be the most suitable and why is it so? I am not particular in any brand as long as it suit my need and durable..

thank you in advance :)

I can tell you this hombot is really good. For a house like yours, you need smart bot to systematically navigate around. This hombot square performs perfectly at this!

I've been using this for a year now in my 120 sqm flat. Works very well and fully replacing my vacuum job. Now I only do mopping on weekend.
