I think need pay after free period…..

yes M1 marketing very unclear and not transparent when they say true 5g…..
Yes, the extra cost is hidden deep within the T&C.

Despite being advertised very loudly as a "True 5G" plan, the extra cost for this 5G is hidden deep within the T&C on a separate page amongst loads of other details.

Seems very intentional and also doesn't seem very ethical.

Sorry, jus a further follow-up question,

@froztheart @Rihavein

Do you have to pay for 5G?
Like an extra top-up of $2.08 every month?

The marketing on M1 website is quite untransparent, T&C seems to imply 5G is chargable after some months.

Thanks
Yes, as with M1, their 5G & Caller ID etc. all comes with T&C e.g. valid for a duration only.

most i see all on sim only plans. Seldom see people get handset with contract, unless their company pay for their phone bills, they can sign up a phone and sell it for cash.

Yes, M1 has been doing this for a while marketing their plans as 5G, but hiding the fact that after 6 or 12 months, you need to pay an extra $2 to continue using 5G.

If there's an additional charge later, they should advertise the plan as $12 for 5G, with a $2 discount for the first 6 or 12 months, rather than marketing it as $10 and later expecting customers to pay more.

This is really poor marketing.

M1 has been putting up such marketing for a while for those that are informed.
Nothing new from M1 honestly, and not restricted to M1 only.
As long as regulation allows, and without any potential downside, companies will not bother. 🤑

Yes, but what to do ... People governing advertising standards seem to be okay with such hidden gotchas

i thought can go M1 Shop renew your sim only contract "benefits", so you can get another cycle of free 5G?

I remember someone mentioned previously.
Their sim only plan is no contract, if i understand correctly, but they market as true 5G without mentioning (on their front few pages) that's there a charge of $2++ for the 5G after 6 months.

Only deep inside T&C as well as during checkout then they state so.

Don't know, mine works until now. S$17+ still okie for me. Already heard from many that M1 5G is as good as Singtel 5G now so no point for me to switch now. I will look for others once they increase my S$17 pricing.
