I can manually sleep it, but not automatically. I have tried turning off airport but still doesnt work.

make sure your msn, facebook and gmail are not running, cos they keep the comp alive be downloading data constantly

Mind sharing what are your settings and configuration ?

My hibernation mode is set to 1 via pmset.

I dont have those apps you mentioned running, as I allow the energy saver to kick in once the iMac starts up. In my energy saver settings, all options but Wake for network access & startup automatically after power failure are enabled.

if you get from Apple Store online, you can use Citibank.

all other places (epicentre, nubox, challenger, etc) can use quite a few, like Citibank, DBS, UOB..

The 3.5mm output is also a digital output, google for the right connecters, you can use it to hook up to an AV amplifier.

i think you gotta get those external sound card, e.g. Creative X-Fi Surround 5.1 to get your mac hooked up to a 5.1 system

I use this to connect macbook to home theatre amps. Cheap and good.

Is it natural for the back of my Imac to be so hot after just a few hours of use? This is near the top back part where there is this open slit; the bottom part is much cooler.

I did some searching online and it seems to be the case, something about aluminium being a good conductor of heat and the heat fan located near the back, but I would like a 2nd opinion here.

doesnt work on mac... even though can recgonized an use. the volume knob doesnt work... 5.1 need use audio midi to set.

2011 mbp should have thunderbolt i/o right?
not sure of any readily available option for it though. I think thunderbolt can split its signal to multiple monitors, but im just not sure which kind of cable yet.
