The office folder took up a little over 1 gig on my imac. Not sure if that's an accurate way of finding out though.

how to uninstall programs on mac? I understand that those downloaded from app store can just click and hold and wiggle to delete. but those programs that downloaded from web, how to uninstall? just drag them to trash?

if drag them to trash, the icon still in launchpad leh how ah..

EDIT: actually it will disappear the moment you move the app to trash. weird it didn't work the first time i tried hence this post, now that i tried again, the app icon disappear from Launchpad when i delete it from Applications.

Do search via Finder to remove any other associated files/folders. That should be the correct way.

Macbook Pro Battery

Hi all,

Currently I am using a window notebook at home. Power plug is always connected. Thinking of switching to Macbook but the built-in battery really trouble me.

I have the following questions.
1. The Macbook will always be connected to the main power supply, will the battery life be affected since it is constantly connected?

2. If macbook is fully charged but it is not used for 2-3 days. when I on the main supply the battery will be charged again since it isno longer 100%. Will this affect the charging cycle of the battery?

Pls advise. :)

Get a gaming PC rig. Apple is not designed for games.

It's all about calibrating the battery. Do it at least once a month, and you should be fine. --> Link

The battery has an internal microprocessor that provides an estimate of the amount of energy in the battery as it charges and discharges. The battery needs to be recalibrated from time to time to keep the onscreen battery time and percent display accurate and to keep the battery operating at maximum efficiency. You should perform this procedure when you first use your computer and then every few months after that. If you normally leave your Apple portable computer connected to AC power and very rarely use it on battery power you may want to perform this process once a month. The website www.apple.com/batteries has more helpful information regarding batteries and offers an iCal calendar to remind you to calibrate your battery.

Hi all,

how do you set a DEFAULT program to open certain files?

for example, I do not want Quicktime to open MKV, or when I double-click a mkv file, instead, I want VLC to open...

thanks!

About to query about the battery for a mbp till i saw this vid.

so when u r at the desk, just leave it plugged in day and night 24/7?

What if the mbp is a replacement desktop? then it will always be plugged in right.

My MBP is my desktop replacement. I leave it plugged in all the time, don't worry about it. It's perfectly fine.

Also i need batch resize the pics to a smaller resolution.
