Nope I don't think so... (correct me if I am wrong though)
Have you considered using Hot Corners instead?

Time machine requires the hdd to be formatted in HFS+ aka Mac OS Extended.

Either get another hdd, or backup and reformat your existing hdd.

Hey guys,

After some finding on the mac101 faq pages that is 174 ++ long,

can anyone advise whether is it possible to transfer file from mac to pc (& vice versa) using ethernet cable?

If there's already an answer somewhere, can pls redirect me. Thanks..

PS: search using term "transfer file using ethernet cable", no proper results.

I'm no expert and am also learning how to use the MBP & MBA.....

Do check on your external HDD's manufacturer site for solutions. For mine (Samsung), I found that there is a program to allow Mac OS to write to NTFS formatted drive.

Samsung NTFS 3G Driver allows data writing to an NTFS-formatted Samsung External Hard Drive on a Mac OS.
You can use the drive conveniently on a Mac OS, maintaining the NTFS format which supports large-size files of 4GB or greater.

http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/downloads/support_ex_ntfs3g.html

I;m currently using it for my Windows Notebook backup.... so not sure if with this program, I can also use it for the MBP & MBA backup at the same time.

Is there dirt at the connecting parts ? Use a brush to brush away dirt and other foreign ibjects that affects the connectivity ?
