is it possible to install dota on macbook pro 13' recently bought with garena?

hello. im using macbook pro early 2011. i was using bootcamp on window 7. i was playing nba on it. suddenly the screen hang for 10 secs or plus, then everything back to normal. is there any wrong with my hdd or graphic card? this has happen twice i think

and i feel like my touchpad is not really sensitive. anyway i can check isit spoil ?

1)Is it possible to swap the default 17inch model MBP Pro HDD with a 256/512 SSD?

2)Possible to add more RAM myself e.g. 8 or 16GB?

3)Able to triple-boot? (Ubuntu/Mac os/Win)

4)Is it worth waiting for updated MBP with Ivy Bridge CPU?

When that happens,
1. click on the wireless icon on the Top right of the screen
2. Check if it is connected to your home wireless network
3. If not, select your home wireless network
4. The MBA might have connected to some other
Wireless network to which it has no access right.

Hi

For 1 and 2, goto macsales.com and look for your answers there. It is a great DIY mac website.

For 3, you can always use parallels desktop ( must pay) and its free counterpart virtualbox to run different os as vm. But your ram and hdd space must be enough. To run natively on a mac, windows is supported by boot camp. I am not sure of the other os.

For 4, depends on you. If you are a general user like myself,
It should not make a difference. But if you can wait, why not?
I will rather pay for the latest specs and hardware if I am not in a hurry. Plus you might just get the latest os x mountain lion bundled together.

Easiest way would be to use Time Machine on another hdd then restore it onto the ssd.

Ideally, use Super Duper or Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your hdd onto the ssd.

i have a question regarding iMessage. currently i have iMessage on my iOS devices and on the mac as well. anyway, here's the scenario. when someone sends me an iMessage, all my 3 devices receive it. it's pretty irritating but i think i can live with it for now. however, i have to go to each device to clear the notifications. is there a way whereby once u read it on one device, and the other devices will sync and clear the notifications themselves? anyone in my shoes? what's your solution/advice? TIA!

Yeah, install the ssd then use Super Duper to clone everything from the hdd to the ssd.

After its done, you can try going to System Preferences > Startup Disk, select the ssd and reboot. Verify if you can boot from the ssd and if everything is intact, before erasing the hdd.

Hi guys. I just bought an 128GB SSD and will be doing a clean installation of lion OS and also partition it for bootcamp windows 7 (i need windows for the occasional games and visual studio projects).

I'll be using a 500GB HDD as storage. I have a few questions:

1) I'll be using bootcamp assistant to partition the SSD into 88GB for mac and 40GB for Windows 7. Is that a good division or should I go lower on windows partition? I plan to only install the OS and important applications, everything else like Steam games from Windows side will go to HDD.

2) For the 500GB HDD storage, I'll be using disk utility to format it. What format should I format it to? I'm asking this as I might store stuff from both windows and mac, for example, on windows side I'll store Steam games in there so I'm not sure if I format it using MacOS extended (Journaled), will I be able to access the files properly when I'm running Windows on bootcamp? Or should I partition it.

^my personal feel is that if you want to give windows 7 40gb maybe a bit tight. cause windows 7 have alot of nonsense file that they keep such as 'Winsxs' that file alone can be up to 15gb or more.

yes. you should put win 7 on your storage disk. 50 gb is definitely not enough as well.

Hi fellow MAC users, I had a Western Digital My Passport 1TB connected to my MacBook Pro. It was working fine until suddenly last nite, it just refused to be mounted. I have tried changing the usb connector and it still doesn't work. I can see the drive in the disk utility, but it is grayed out. Ran verify disk and repair disk and it says ok. I also tried connecting it to another MacMini and it is also the same.

Anyone having the same issues? Appreciate any help, please? thanks thanks.
