Bootcamp

I have an early 2011 MBP 15, recently decided to bootcamp it.

However running through all the d/l and whatever when it came to partitioning the drive, there was an error stating that it cannot partition a partitioned disk, something along this line.

But i've never partitioned it before and brief searching on the internet yields nothing noteworthy to my problem.

My guess is that there is an OS X Lion installation partition that remained on the HDD when i upgraded the OS.

So any suggestions?

Backup everything. Start from scratch.

No release from Apple regarding software requirement at the moment. Maybe a clean install of ML may work.

Try to repair your OSX:


**Please backup all your files/data prior to re-installation**

Bootable Disc - OSX Lion: Any chance you have a bootable OSX Lion Disc?

1. Insert the disc and restart your MBP.
2. Hold "Option/Alt" key when you hear the Chime.
3. You will see (3) Options: Mac HDD / Recovery / OSX Lion.
4. Select OSX Lion and the system will prompt you for installation.
5. System will attempt to repair your system, which will take about 25 - 35 mins.

After the re-installation is completed, all your data/files will still be intact if you have not erase your HD.

Lastly, Try Bootcamp again.

I have a question about the macbook battery. Apparently my 2009 13" macbook suppose to have 80% charge after 1000 charge cycle. But now at 290, the max capacity is already at 85%. Any chance of a replacement? My apple care is expiring soon.

Not sure if i can explain my problem properly. hope someone can understand.

for example: i opened Finder and Dropbox folder. then I minimize all. when i click Finder again, the Dropbox folder appear TOGETHER with the Finder folder. Is there anyway or any settings I can make to just show the folder that I want to show and the rest remain minimized?

Does that mean I got to download driver for Intel HD Graphics 3000 AMD Radeon HD 6770M.

Then how would I control which graphic card I want to use on the win7?

You don't need to download the drivers unless you want to overclock.
You can't chose which card to use iirc. Windows will do that automatically.

Hi bro, no options to switch to the Intel HD 3000 (Integrated Graphics Card) at this moment and Windows will use the dedicated Graphics card only.

Another question : Just installed VLC on my new MBP, then there is this VLC "hardrive" logo appear on my desktop. Anyway to removed it ? When I click it, it just bring me to the folder where I install VLC.
