Upgrading the RAM on your 2010 iMac should be easy enough... Apple has deemed it as a user-upgradeable process anyway...

Just remember to get the right kind of memory, in your case PC3-10600 DDR3 1333MHz for your 2010 iMac...

hi. i have a macbook pro (mid-2011) and for the past few months, i've noticed that my wireless mouse (microsoft and logitech) lags. i've reloaded the OS X (10.8.4) a couple of times but the problem is still the same. the first few months that i was using my macbook pro, there was no such issue.

how are your wireless mice connected? bluetooth direct to the MBP or do you use a USB receiver?

it uses a USB receiver. does it have something to do with my flashdrive (sony 16gb usb 3.0)? when i unplug it, the mouse moves without any lag. butnkinda weird it only happened just a few months back.

there could be a possible conflict there. try resetting the SMC and PRAM by following the instructions here and see how it turns out?

done but still the same thing .. mouse sometimes work and sometimes lags .. MBP should be able to handle a USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices at the same time right?

Hi guys, need some advices. My old sony laptop for school is breaking down, i'm deciding between an Macbook Air and Macbook Pro.

So my questions is, would Macbook Air suffice? Considering that I'll probably only be using it for microsoft point, excel, word when i'm in school and back to mac OS at home.

Yes the MacBook Air will suit your needs perfectly.

maybe it's caused by faulty usb port?

i tried switching from one USB port to a other (for the wireless mouse), there's no issue. the only issue is that when both usb flashdrive v3.0 and mouse are connected, mouse because laggy ..

If there is any refresh, it should happen in October right before the festive season. Typically they won't launch anything during the festive season.

another problem encountered.

how come when I use programs like unarchiver or similars, I cannot straightaway extract all zip part files .zip and decompress them into a single folder? Using applications will make them have their individual folders and render me unable to "combine" them. For windows its like an automatic feature. How do I make it like that with Mac?

also, somehow, all my files cannot be "cut", can only copy them somewhere else! How to fix this?

- Launch unarchiver
- Toolbar > The unarchiver > Preferences


You cannot cut files in mac. Use drag and drop instead.

You can 'cut' actually. Just hold the command key when dragging, especially to external drives/folders.
