hi guru, i am new to mac os. how to i cut and paste files in the finder window? the cut and paste command seems to be disabled. e.g. i use command x and command v but has no effect.

i tried using Command C and Command Option V for cut and paste and it works.

I just got my rmbp 256gb model. How do i backup the mails on my mba? I did a export on the mailbox but it doesn't work. I have a time machine backup but wish to only transfer certain files over to the rmbp.

why don't you use time machine and move everything, then proceed to remove whatever you don't need after the whole machine is migrated. Isn't this much easier?

I have another problem now. I tried to factory restore my MBA through Internet recovery mode and it doesn't work. Google and found that due to singnet proxy problems. Anyone have a workaround for it?

some lousy TP-link router as I am on overseas exchange now,

for example: when i wake it up from sleep, the Wifi signal bar will be empty, and when i click on it, it sometimes shows that I am connected to the network. otherwise i am completely dropped from the network altogether.

i normally have to restart wifi for it to work again.

Only run into this issue when my network is a hidden network.
