Anyone know what model of air cooler to buy for macbook. there is so many brand out there, not sure which one is good.

don't bother with laptop coolers.
As long as your laptop isn't shutting down, it isn't overheating.

Wrong, they just swapped the MacBook Black top panel/keyboard onto the MacBook White. Both models are discontinued.

If you walk around SLS, you MIGHT find some spare parts. Otherwise try MUGS (macusersg.org) to try to buy some faulty units for the parts. I don't think it's worth the effort though IMO.

i discover most of my frens' macbook already very heated after some time. Mine too face the same problem

I use my macbook to convert videos to suitable formats for my ipod touch. So when its converting, both the cores of cpu are 100% utilized. Therefore the internal fan turn until like siao. I'm so afraid my processor will get burnt...

Well you have will to understand that Apple's MBPs are designed using aluminium and acts as a huge block of heat-sink. Now, if it heats up to a certain point the fans in the laptop are designed to spin up to 6400~rpm to cool the components.

Should things get a little too hot, it would shut down to prevent damage to the components.

Only 27". Unless you go other screen-sharing utilities which use the network to extend. Not sure about using as main display.

Hard Drive Help

Hi Brothers and Sisters,

I own a Macbook Pro 15" and would like to have a Hard drive upgrade.
I'm actually concern about the 2.5" Hard Drive(WD Scorpion Blue 1TB)
that I'm looking forward to upgrade, will it fit into my MBP?

From my understanding, there is two Thickness of 9.5mm and 12.5mm (correct me if I'm Wrong). Please Advice if a 12.5mm 2.5" HDD will fit?

The 12.5mm will physically fit, but you will obstruct/block the air hole and that will lead to the hard drive failing much faster than intended. So no, please don't try to squeeze in the 12.5" drive - the housing wasn't designed to support that.

impossible. the components are totally different, except maybe HDD & RAM only.

I'm thinking of getting one but i hate the 7200rpm drive in there and the fact that apple does not offer an SSD option

Reading the macrumor forums, it is possible to DIY and install an SSD drive on your own, but I don't think i'm technically proficient enough to do it

Would Epicenter be able to do it for me for a fee?
