What kind of Mac you all using? Did you do a bulk purchase through a certain shop/provider?

Planning for a Mac purchase for POS purposes mainly & Adobe CS works...

Opting for MBP 15" as it should be more worth the value than Macbook Alu I hope...

However considering between the base and higher spec model for the MBP 15".. Aiming for hdd with 7200rpm as well...

Should I get the base model and upgrade to the 7200rpm config, or get the higher spec model with 7200rpm config? Does the 256MB difference in graphics memory and higher processing speed result in a great performance difference?

Any difference if I upgrade the HDD myself or get the HDD config @ Apple?

HDD you can always upgrade yourself, no point making it the differentiating factor. I would opt for the middle end model with the 512 VRAM.

that's what i thought when Dan posted this idea sometime back. after seeing this setup last evening at NUBOX, i have second thought. the resolution on the 24" Apple LED screen seems quite 'blur' due to the fact that the 24 incher is displaying the resolution of the 15" MBP which is 1440 x 900.

i thought it suppose to have an option of external display?

not true,maybe people at nubox did not set it up properly cause macbook pro is 1440x900 native and out put to 24inch ACD native also and should not be blur and yes the external display will have its own resoluntion settings,anyway this is not any new idea.

They probably set it up to Mirror. That's not smart at all. Then again, the staff may not know how to set it to extend the desktop properly.

You can't assume that just because they work in an Apple retail outlet means they know everything. It's really quite laughable in Singapore.

i think so too. they should so something about it. its really mirroring the MBP not very wise. may turn off buyer.

And also, If i were to buy a 2nd handed MB White 1/2g ram, how much will it cost to upgrade to 4G with shop installing it for you. Apple.sg offer 230+ for 4G ram.

just a quickly, the performance between a 2.0ghz unibody MB & a 2.4ghz unibody MB is it alot? And 2.0ghz comes without an integrated optical drive means tt i cant burn cds?
