What i meant was that it is either closing your lid with InsomniaX that is causing the problem or that your MacBook doesn't work well with your router, the fact that your other computes are working fine shows that your network is probably okay.

What router are you using?

Hi, I have been reading thru and watched several Macbook unibody reviews/unboxings. Currently getting turned off by Windows and beginning to fond the MAC less painful. I am interested in getting the 2.0Ghz Macbook and would upgrade the ram to 4GB eventually on my own. But here is the problem I am facing and would appreciate any input that the posters here would like to inject.
Here is my dilemma, WWDC 09 is coming in June, if i'm not mistaken. Is there any loss for me if I were to get the Macbook now and APPLE would introduce an upgraded version? I have an Iphone 3g and the impending news of a new phone already bugs me. So, is it safe to say there would be no announcement on a new hardware?

External HDD for Mac

Hi,

I have a question on using external HDD for my Macbook.
Recently I bought a WD external HDD for use with both my Macbook and my windows based PC.
The HDD came in Fat32 file format which is okay for use but I think we can't move files that are bigger than 4GB in size. The only way is to reformat it in NTFS.
The question is, can Mac support NTFS file format?
Why I am asking is because under Mac Disk Utility, you can erase/format the HDD, but you can only choose MS-Dos Format which is FAT32 or other Mac formats.

Any idea if I use my window base PC to reformat my HDD in NTFS format, will it work on my Macbook?

Thanks.

for the external issue, as far as my experience is concern, it seems that i'm able to copy out files from my hdd in NTFS format but not able to add or delete files from it. While in FAT32, im able to delete and add stuff from it. So i think you can copy out stuff from NTFS format but not adding or deleting stuff from them. However tis is juz my experience, i might be wrong, maybe some expert here can clarify this?

I’m using Tiger now & considering getting Leopard for Bootcamp. The question is, if I get a Leopard installations disc, do I still need to have Windows Installation disc to install Windows? Or is it already included in the Leopard Installation disc already?

Thanx! :)

There'a something shiny that's stuck inside my macbook screen.
No matter how much I rub this thing just doesn't come off.

Looks like a chipped metal fragment to me.

I'm running Istats Monitoring my usage and I noticed that the bar for my CPU is super high! Is that normal? There are actually 2 bars running and they seem to be hitting the high end.

Also, I noticed under the processes that there is an "Iavd" reading @ 101% consistently. Does anyone knows what is it about?

Thanks!

it's your anti-virus program.
uninstall it. macs don't need anti-virus programs.

No wonder! Ic.. okies.. Another thing with uninstalling: If I were to drag it from application to trash, would I do a clean uninstall?

Cos in Win environment, there are always residual files residing somewhere in systems, library or something..
