finally got a 15 inch mbp.. and after unpacking i decided to put it back into the box..

seems like i really prefer windows..

btw, may i know how do enlarge the window when viewing safari? and how do i clear cache, cookies etc?

another question is: how do i "restore items" when i accidentally deleted them to the recycle bin?

hi there,

U can enlarge the Window of safari by either dragging the window at the bottom right corner or u can go to top panel with toolbars where there is a Window option to change it..

The remove cache & cookies will be in the top left corner Under Safari>>>Preferences

If u want to restore trash from the recycle bin, just simply drag the item/file u want out to desktop or Mac HD..

I am also a new windows to mac user.. take your time.. soon u will get the hang of it..

Hi New macbook pro user here.

So sorry if this has been asked before. For windows, there is a mega codec pack, which includes every freaking codec to watch movies with call k-lite mega codec pack.

Is there an equivalent version for mac? I prefer a single codec pack because it is easier to maintain and upgrade, just go download the newest version and it will automatically update all codecs.

Btw, i read that there are some issues with the flashdrive/thumbdrive.. (something about NSTF or FAT, not so sure)Can i just plug it into my macbook pro and drag and drop files as per normal and plug into windows-based laptop and transfer in and vice-versa?

Will i face any issues or problems?

Mac is able to read NTSF but i think if u try to delete stuff from there, it will not work... (not sure abt copying stuff into NTSF). But i know that mac recognises FAT32 file system.. so if your portable HDD or thumbdrive is in that file system, you should be able write, read, copy n delete away stuff from there.. your portable hdd, thumbdrive, CD or DVD can be found on the desktop when the system is running it.. sure, u can just drag n drop the item out to the destination u wanted..

hahaha.. todate for me i have not explore dashboard besides viewing the date n time from another time zone.. other than that will be calculator and calendar.. There is also a ICal which can be used to keep trace of appts... Erh.. have not tried with camera or the webcam.. so sorry, can't help u much on that..

kawatsu, that's called the Photo Booth. Search it via spotlight (spotlight useful for quick launches of any app)

btw guys, since SGL charge labor fee for HDD replacement and ram. Do they charge for screen protector put on as well?

Anyway, can photobooth settings be configured or changed? The "flash" too bright leh..

heard that if dust goes in, have to dismantle the whole thing? But what happens if dust goes in?

Is the mbp that fragile?

how do i burn a dual layer DVD to a SINGLE layer DVD? I tried to copy a DVD using Disk Utility and the image came out as 7GB++ thus unable to copy to a 4GB disc.

please recommend me a program that's good for this job. (in Windows i used to use CloneDVD without problem)

Other than VLC, try the following:

1) Perian. It's a codec pack that works with Quicktime
2) Flip4WMV, the WMV codec pack addon to QT.
3) Plex.

Need someone's enlightenment. How do i minimise the screen while playing games on the mac like to check my emails and to return to the game later instead of quitting the game?
