Can consider Best Skin Ever for cheap full protection. It still turns yellowish though, after some time. But it's only US$20+, so I think it's worth it.

Helps.

I couldn't find an old article that lists down a guide to help manually migrating selective old files to a brand new mac. Wonder if anyone knows or have a similar guide or hot link for it.

Apart from browser bookmark, I will need application preference, itunes library (including library ID)

Thanks!

Nobody knows, you'll have to wait. And it's the retailers that are in charge of the promotion, not Apple themselves.

I would recommend setting it up again rather than copying old preference files. This way you don't carry forward junk/faulty configs but then again it's up to you. Might want to Google on how to backup/restore specific app prefs.

ok..
it is that when you download things, does it just go to your downloads file? so if i downloaded a lot of things it will all stay there?
and i have downloaded firefox for my own usage, but why most of the time when i start up the computer, and i press the icon on my dock for firefox, it will open up a window that shows the firefox icon and the application folder.
is that normal? or did i not install it correctly? pls advice thanks!!

Drag your firefox icon to your applications folder. Then it will be installed. By default, downloading things it will go to the download folder. You can change it. It will stay in your download folder unless you delete them.

You mount/open the .dmg, THEN drag the Firefox icon out of there into the Applications folder. Sounds as if you dragged the .dmg to the dock instead.

Mac Parallels Program question

Hi everyone,

I'm afraid that I have to ask a dumb and perhaps, common question regarding the Mac program called Parallels...

  1. 1
I understand that this program allows you to run Windows and Snow Leopard concurently without having to reboot with bootcamp is that right?

  1. 2
Does the Parallels program come with Windows pre-installed? As in, after I purchase Parallels, do I need to buy a Windows CD separately?

  1. 3
Finally, Windows being Windows, does the Parallels program have an anti-virus program pre-installed? Or do I need to purchase/download my own anti-virus program?

Thanks!

PS: The first time in my life that I'm using a Mac. Going to buy iMAc soon and apart from using Mac in NUS, no prior experience with it!

Not necessary, it would be troublesome if you have to turn it off every time, unless you not intending to use it for extended period..
