System Preferences -> Keyboard.
Under Keyboard Tab -> Uncheck "Illuminate keyboard in low light conditions"

do u mean around the touchpad area? for me i felt some "vibrations" there at times, not too sure if they are electric shocks

It's common, actually. I wouldn't call it an electric shock, but more like violent statics. It's not exactly uncommon and it won't cause any physical harm to you. Also, it doesn't mean that your computer is faulty. I suppose the metallic enclosure simply is a good conductor for static.

Hi, may I check if any users here encounter occasion hang in safari when browsing? Especially when you're viewing photos on facebook, then when you wanna exit the viewing it will hang there awhile....

And, is safari better than chrome on macbook?

I bought a LG 2050T Monitor to use as external monitor for the Mac. I'm having trouble using it as what I want is to have the lid closed and use the monitor as my primary display. I tried and the results..

1. Plug the monitor and then close the lid. This sets the Mac to sleep and I cannot wake it up by plugging and wireless usb keyboard, or mouse, clicking any key after having plugged the devices.

Did anybody experience the same kind of problems and was able to have the whole thing working?

Hmm.. I am using Chrome on my MacBook. No isses what so ever. No issues with flash compatibility as well. But of course I can't say for certain which is better based on this.

i have all 3 browsers (safari / firefox / chrome).. if 1 fails.. i'll use the other hahaha

safari is going to work best on a mac imo. don't always rely on firefox or chrome especially if you're doing web development like me. firefox/chrome fails on me time to time. especially with the latest releases of chrome 10 and firefox 4.0, firefox 4.0 has simply hung on me and also crashed millions of times, and this is after switching back from chrome after irritating numerous console errors.

I totally agree with you on this. Web development aside, some govt websites wouldn't load properly on FF.

I personally use Safari 95% of the time, and I don't usually have a problem. My backup browser is Chrome.

But sometimes when I use safari I do faced some lagging issues. Like the whole browser will hang there for 2-3mins or sometimes not even responding...

Go to Bluetooth Preferences setting, and under Advanced, make sure you enable "Bluetooth devices to wake up this computer". Good luck!

things to note:

1. do you wait for the monitor to display the desktop first before closing the lid?
2. you can't run closed-lid mode running ur macbook on battery. it has to be plugged in.
3. also if i'm not wrong, closed lid mode with external moniter only works with USB or BLUETOOTH keyboard/mouse. I don't think the logitech unified receiver works because the pairing is done using their software and when the macbook sleeps, the process for the pairing probably sleeps too.

solutions i can think of is to wake up the macbook in closed-lid mode with a usb or bluetooth device or the apple remote. or set your macbook to not sleep when u close the lid
