Of course, when an App comes with an uninstaller the user should use it :D
i run an app called "apptrap"... its always running in the background

when i move the app to the trash, apptrap will prompt if u wanna move the related settings files like the plist, etc...

hello...just some enquiries:
1) i would like to ask which portable hard disk can be used for mac and windows without formatting here and there or is there any solution for making a portable hard disk useable by both OS?
2) (Not sure if it is allowed) Which torrent search engine is good to find mac stuff. Legal stuff perhaps.

TIA

1) Formats that will work on Windows and Mac OS (read/write) without any 3rd-party tools installed: FAT32 and exFAT.

When using FAT32, the maximum size of a single file can be only 4GB. You need at least Windows XP SP2 or later to support exFAT.

My portable HDD I bought during PC Show 2011 comes FAT32-formatted. No problem formatting to exFAT.

If you need to write to NTFS-formatted portable HDDs, you can install tools like Paragon NTFS or NTFS-3G on your Mac OS.

2) I use Windows for torrent-ing. uTorrent client.

I want to play a DVD but don't wish to change the region code (only 4 tries). Tried to play using VLC but doesn't work. The VLC don't seem to load when I choose Open Disc, and selected the drive. Why is that so?

Sorry if this qn is not appropriate here.

Sources for torrents? Are you finding out how to pirate your favourite app? We unfortunately do not provide that type of support :o

You can store any files with any extension on any portable hdd regardless of format, so long you can write to it. exFAT just allows you to write via both Windows & Mac.

Since you are asking for BT Client for mac, can try Transmission http://www.transmissionbt.com/

It was created by Microsoft. Yes, both mac and win can write and read.
No issues with 20gb file size.

hihi, if i'm running a dual-drive SSD/HDD combo using the SSD for OSX/BOOTCAMP and HDD for DATA only, can i check if there's a way to make some of the default Home folders appear on my HDD?

E.g 1 When I download something to the default "Downloads" folder, I want the downloaded file to go to my HDD instead of my SSD.

E.g 2 When I put files on the actual Desktop, I would like those files to appear in a "Desktop" folder on my HDD instead of my SSD.

I've tried searching and got alot of instructions on symlinks and stuff but it doesn't seem to be right cos my SSD storage is still being used.
