since I already have MCT, most likely i will sell MNACT at the market if the price goes above $1.2. Lock in some profit first and see 6 months down the road how the 2 reits behave in the market, may then go in to add MCT or buy back MNACT before XR.

Frankly, there is no need to get so worked out over 'odd lots' nowadays. For long term investors, it should not really matter anyway.

For those who prefer to have board lot holdings (like me), it is quite an easy process to round up or round down to the nearest board lots.

When CMT/CCT, FLT/FCOT and ART/AH-Trust were merged, they made arrangements with some of the local brokerages (like POEMS, DBSV) to facilitate odd lots trading. And the brokerage is paid for by the REIT manager.

Sure, it is a little troublesome but nothing too onerous.

Odd lots are inevitable when merger like these takes place.

The correct question to ask is whether you believe in the long term prospect of the merged entity.

This is the first merger for Mapletree REITs. Could an MIT/MLT merger be somewhere down the road?

Trading halt has been lifted for both.

Interesting, the opening prices:
MCT: 1.94
MNACT: 1.13
Conversion ratio = 1.13/1.94 = 0.5824 a tad lower than 0.5963 (MNACT underpriced)

Both MCT and MNACT still have at least one more round of distribution to come before the merger and the latter is higher yield. On a distribution-adjusted basis, the market prices probably reflect the correct ratio.

Oh yes, forgot about that. Actually it will be a while before the deal is concluded.
