23 flats and u go particpate..frank speaking..it's a matter of luck when competing among the hundred - thousands applicants.

just a generic question..we went for a brief recce to the clementi ridges site..went up to 12th storey of the blocks north and south of the site, and along clementi ave 6..the noise from the traffic was pretty unbearable, esp at night..any of you got any idea of whether this noise will be less noticeable on the higher floors?

noise may actually be worse at higher floors bro, actually thats why i didnt bother applying for clementi, knew the noise will be very high. and my wife very sensitive to noise

4 or 5 rooms. 4 rooms seem to benefit from having the 5 room units in between 4 rooms and the road, but noise might be coming from the whole stretch of roads. Any idea where is the main source of noise from? Nearer the junction or evenly spread out?

My experience on a 39 level unit of block 79 in Toa Payoh. Whenever there are activities in front of Library, the words from DJ and singers can be heard clearly (i.e. can understand). I guess sounds travel and also reflect. Probably at high levels, the lower decibel sounds can't be heard and therefore the only louder ones are heard. When the louder ones are speech/singing, one may still appreciate, but when the louder sounds are not noise, then one perceived that they can the noise is worse because the contrast is greater without the weaker background noise.

no. it will be worst for level 37. sound travel upwards.

I am mainly guessing.. base on physics that energy loss as they travel and human perception is usually by contrast to the background. The decibel at level 37 should be lower than that at level 12. However, at level 37, one may be more able to identify the louder sound.
