Hi folks, this is not good. I'm on 4950 and connections are still dropping intermittently. No clear pattern of drops and BF is off. I've two notebooks with Intel 7260 and latest drivers. Every now and then, wireless icon shows exclamation mark and my Exchange and Bloomberg connections drop. Any advice?

same for me. 4950, i've connections dropping for my Note 4 and S6 edge for the past weeks. There isn't any issues with Tab S.

Sometimes loading pages are slow on 5ghz and was alright on 2.4ghz

One of my laptops is also Intel 7260 and it is working perfectly here. Make sure you DO have the latest Intel drivers. The 7260 has been a nightmare ..... lots of problems for lots of people. There have been almost weekly updates to it since it came out. I also set it to "prefer 5Ghz" in the advanced driver settings (to stop it sticking on 2.4Ghz).

Hi
I bought this router from M1 during the recent IT show.
M1 installed the ONT few days back and I installed the router and setup the password via direct linkage to my laptop.
Prompted me to upgrade firmware and I proceed with it.
I reset the router thereafter (pressing the on/off button at the back) to reset
I used speedtest.com.sg and the download speed is just 79mbps and upload is 59mbps

I subscribed to the non gaming 1Gbps plan hence I wanted to ask is there any setting i need to pay attention on my router before I complain to M1

test the speed again, but directly to the ONT.

the one in red is a reboot. not a reset. a reset is assumed to be using the reset button behind.

You might want to log in to webUI and ensure the firmware version you have now is 4950.

If it's now, you may want to upgrade it to 4950.

Next, if all things fail, do a reset by using the reset button and re-setup the router to ensure clean performance...

Thanks for the prompt reply
I will go back and test after work
Usually after firmware upgrade, does it required a reset or reboot?
I didnt see the message correctly previously

usually it doesn't require a reset, but considering the fact that 4950 contains an updated driver, its recommended to reset.

reboot is a must for all firmware upgrade.

disconnection can be also due to the router side. Have you tried to view the system log of the wireless router? If not, you may also try uninstalling the driver for pcie-ac68 and re-installing it?

Still no luck renfred89.It seems to disconnect every couple of hours when my PC is on 24x7

Maybe I try to isolate if it is 5ghz issue

OK JK, I'm going to try it one more time. Afterwhich, I'd have to switch back to AC66U.

It's the disconnect for seconds that is driving me nuts... it disconnects MS Exchange and stock price ticker.

@JK, am using note 3 and tab s 8.4wifi. My prob is not with device dropping connection...rather - device will be connected... but no internet connectivity. I have written a couple of time here... no acknowledgement whatsoever. Asus seems to have ignore this problem altogether and just concentrated on ios related issues.

You mean for 5 GHz, channel must be 149 for beamforming to work?

Dear renfred89,

Yes, I am using IOS 8.3 official build without any problem on wireless.

Dear Ho_kuku,

I didn't ignore your feedback. Possible provide more detail?

Wireless channel? Android build? wireless 2.4 or 5Ghz

When the wireless will drop?

JK

Hi JK,

The problem with 87u for me is not the usual dc that happen for most ios users. Rather - device continue to be connected to the router but internet connectivity is totally lost. I'lI be watching something on Youtube and then suddenly the whole streaming stopped when I am still connected to wifi. I then immediately fired up some apps (eg chrome, facebook, email) to test connectivity and indeed all return the "no connectivity" error msg. To rectify this problem - I'll have to manually disconnect and reconnect the device to the wifi network

Devices affected
Note3 and Tab S - both on Android 4.4.2

This problem is only isolated to the 5ghz band. Problem occurs even when device is active. Also I have set the network rotation interval to 0 and BF to off.

I tried but could not reproduce the problem .... it seems intermittent. For 4950 I'lI get this sometime once or twice a day..

This prob have been in the last few build... there are users who have continued to face the same problem that I faced with 4950. Please help resolve this in the next build.... thanks JK

Edit: while posting this message - problem with no connectivity happened again.. urgh!

Edit 2: I have set my wireless channel to auto. If it does improve with specific channels... pls let me know. Dun think thats the case but I am willing to give it a shot.
