Let's say good peers transmitting at max rate, what's the speed i can get? and also if i were to hit near 1Gbps on wired connection, what's the load averages like with like let's say 1000 connections

Dear Wolong,

Actually, it depends on which clients and seed & per side.

I can't provide you an answer or promise you.

I would leave the question to another user.

Best regard,
JK

Looks like my setting may not last as I place my RT87U in a wooden cupboard together with the ONT.

So far the cupboard internal is warm and all LED still blinking after 3 days.

After problems faced by 87U users, u still dare to be the pioneer? Haha! Good luck to u

I have been a pioneer in trying out and testing ASUS routers for a long time :)

I'm well aware some of the issues that are impacting the ASUS RT-AC87U but my ASUS RT-AC87U has been working fine both my testing and actual environment with numerous NASes on the background (no missing 5GHz, auto reboot etc, Internet keep dropping, non subpar performance - tests are done on my 1Gbps symmetrical Fiber VQ and migrating the continuing tests on 2Gbps VQ Fiber + my 300Mbps SingTel Fiber before it has started retailing in SG albeit various minor issues like UI, half baked failover/load balancing, USB compatible issues with newer devices etc.

Nevertheless, ASUS have always been proactive in releasing numerous firmware fixes, enhancements and new features over the years and they still continuing to do so for their SKU which already more than 3 years old. (i.e. ASUS RT-N56U/ASUS RT-N66U/ASUS RT-AC66U/ASUS RT-AC56U/ASUS RT-AC56S/ASUS RT-AC68U/ASUS RT-AC87U) over all the networking competitors out there.

+ I rather bet my money on RMerlin too ^^

I'm more curious on what ASUS has done up for their smart connect feature on their ASUS RT-AC3200.

Maylyn, with all the issues reported, you think it is wise to change from 68U to 87U now?

For normal usage with a fair amount of torrenting and video streaming. Am on VQ also.
