Sent in MBA 2018 series in for check yesterday and they concluded that my battery is bloated and needs to be replaced. As I am still on AppleCare, the cost will be taken care of. However, they still provide an estimate of the cost involved as follows. It is really expensive and without AppleCare, i may well just get a new MacBook instead.
They mentioned that it will take up to 5 days for replacement (next Wed) but I have requested for them to expedite to see if they can try to get my MBA serviced by next Monday. The service staff is nice and said that he will put in a note to expedite the servicing. It seems that there is no stock of battery at the outlet and they will need to requisite for them to send over to store for the replacement.
Edit: Just got an email to inform me that my MBA is ready for collection. This is pretty fast! Within one day.
