Those that hoot magicforce/other keyboards from Taobao. How much is the average shipping fee and what forwarder did you use? I've never buy from Taobao before but saw one of the magicforce on Taobao that I really want.

Currently using a Das Model S ultimate that I got from Amazon. Nice keyboard but kinda tired of it already haha

I always use TaoBao direct. Should be 39RMB shipping fee.

Darknights;

that set looks pretty awesome, I hope i'll find the "end game" too. actually saw some nice sets, but really too much to pay for them.
which are the sets that you'd laid your eyes on currently?

i agree it's a very costly hobby.. haha. i'd spent more than 500 bucks on this keyboard with keycaps. but i'd learned something from buying all those audio stuffs.. just go for the ones you like at the get go, rather than upgrading slowly. this way, you'll save more in the long run. hahahaha

some sets from geekkeys, and also some from TB. but all at least $80, even from TB. that in itself is already more expensive then my kb, lol. then someone told me to upgrade my kb, so that I can justify getting more expesnive keycaps. lol....

I'm just waiting to see if TB has any good deals for what I'm looking at on 11.11, and then the others on BF, since both are quite close by already.

You can go down to sim lim to test out the diff switches. Shops like cybermind have sample switches on display you can go try it out.

these are roughly what the difference is;

red is usually 45g, no bump/ tactile feel, smooth.
blue is about 45g, I think, with tactile feel, and clicky sound.
brown is I think also 45g, with tactile feel but NO clicky sound.
black is heaviest, with 55g, with no bump or tactile feel, smooth.

Black is 60g iirc. there is also nature white which is 52g (though marketed as 55g) if you want something in between red and black. so far only the Ducky shine 5 and poker offers it

I'm looking to get a mechanical keyboard for the office, where I work with 20 people in an open space. I wanna keep things as quiet as possible -- what should I be looking at?

I'm using cherry brown. You'll definitely be louder than others using it in an office. They always say browns are silent, but I don't think so. Quieter than blues, sure, but browns are still louder than regular and laptop keyboards. Razer has their Stealth models with quieter (kaihl?) keys.

If you want quiet, try Cherry MX Clears and train yourself not to bottom out when typing. Your fingers will be sore at first, but you'll get used to it eventually.

Tried a few different colour switches. I quite like the feel of the black one.

So does this mean in future I can swap out some of the keys for other types of switches ?

Hi all, I just bought a set of Tai-hao keycaps for my Ducky shine 5. However, I notice the spacebar has a very weird metallic sound to it. When I replaced it with the standard spacebar, it doesn't make such a weird sound.

The other keys sound okay... Do I need to lubricate the switch?

Issit because of the diff materials and thickness?
