Touch wood, so far my SP 2017 is ok. 5mth old. But i got extended warranty from HN. Didnt have issue with my old SP4 even after 1yr old.

Sold my sp4 to get the newer SP 2017, which I m still using to write this post, I wouldnt advise anyone to get a SP, at least not at the moment.

The reason I got SP is becos I draw & write with the SP pen & at that time, SP4 was still the king in this area. Now u got more options for similar devices from other brands. Have not tried other brands & their pens, so cannot compare & comment here.

Imo, MS's Surface line is worse than Apple's Macbooks when it comes to serviceability and planned obsolescence. Dell's SP clone allows you to change the battery at least.

Correct me if I'm wrong, MS sells the pen as an optional extra too right?

The thinness/slimming profile of such a form factor with such hardware compromises too much (imo) in terms of expected reliability. The SP has evolved to be a niche device which is expected to be replaced anually.

Modern ultraportables are all like that. Cell phones, tablets, bleeding edge laptops.

agreed.

My next similar laptop will be other brand. Be able to swap the batt, upgrade of RAM & SSD are a must.

Just now went to SL SQ.
Viewing for all those Dell latitude model.
Still feel like E7370 is good buy.
Optional for E7280.
Tablet to me isn't heavy than others laptop.

Just bear in mind 7370 is using lower powered 5W CoreM Y-processor unlike 15W Core U in the 7380/7390. My opinion is that the 7280 is not that great considering the 7380 is almost of similar footprint, but squeezes in a bigger screen thanks to thinner bezels.

any idea how is the batt life?

It's only a 42Whr battery, so I'd say 4.5 to 6.5 depending on workload. Notebookcheck managed 6 hours

Yup for 7370 has low voltage and draw lesser power than i3 processor.

Could be good for longer battery life for net surfing.
Against it's come with LTE as well.

anyway the temp fix for my flickering is to hibernate it and switch back on.

though I'll get about 5 small lines on top & bottom of my screen.

at least, the flickering stop.

now hardly encounter it.
