I have a question.

i have 2 mobile bb both 2mb. is there any device that is available for me to combine 2 links together? to become 4mb and can be shared wirelessly in the house? cause right now me and my wife each have a mobile bb was thinking of combining them so both of us can surf at a faster speed.

well if you have 2 devices for mobile bb.. that will mean u have 2 MAC addresses 2 IP address one for each modem.. so how can a request..like a download.. be sent to 2 different Network adaptors and come in from 2 different IP addresses and be "combined" as one..

Last time i used to think if there was a way to have 2 x 56kbps dialup modems.. on 1 PC.. and 2 phone lines..is it possible to dial 2 modems to get a combined speed of 112kbps..lol
I researched for quite a while..on this topic.. but could find the answer also..ha ha

And obviously, such solution is generally not offered for general consumers.

If you combine connection with separate IP, then some sites will conflict and not allow you to LB.

Even if ISPs support multilink, it still wouldn't be likely, because most server daemons nowadays are based on local port + remote IP & port pairing to identify a connection pair.
So a connection from a different IP would be seen as a new connection.

MLPPP is layer 2 so if the ISP somehow (unlikely) is willing to do this on their modem pool, it is possible as you'll only get 1 IP allocated to you. ISDN uses MLPPP to achieve 128kbps across both bearer channels.

Anyway, back to mobile broadband. I did some speedtest last night, results here

This is if you get both connections from the same ISP. If I wanted to do it, the more logical approach would be to get from different providers so that you don't suffer a single bottleneck (the ISP) at any one time. One can go down and you'd still have access.

This is ridiculous speed at Telok Blangah. Its slow like a decade back when we use 56k dial-up. A 2 minute video on Youtube took 21mins to load!
Coverage team says will call back 3 days, but it's been 7 days. Supervisor also promise to call back but it has been 2 days. I don't think I should pay and fulfill my contract with this kind of speed and service, but can I? Surely there must be something to protect consumers. Who can we go to for redress?

The service is provided as a 'best effort' basis.
Hence there is no recourse, simply because technically it is like this.

Using M1 2mbps now.

Raw speed is there, no issue hitting 2mbps, but can be slow at certain peak hours, but still can surf.

Issue will be the inability to load more than 1 webpage simultanously. if load 2 or more webpage simultanously, browser will refuse to load (FireFox).

Grrr... I keep having disconnection issues with Starhub be it the Starhub home internet connection or the Mobile Broadband.

Staying Sengkang Central near Buangkok MRT... the signal here is Crappy!!!
Called Starhub and they aren't helping... keep asking me to install driver that is not helping~

Is it only me or all the people staying in Sengkang Central near Buangkok mrt having the same issues as me?
Mine previous old estate (Serangoon) doesn't have this problem with Starhub MaxMobile... >.<

The video is choppy , will upgrading to 7.2 improve performance or is the reception just bad?

In general will going up in speed improve reception?

Im here, but will not comment

I am one of the suffering user of Singtel BBOM. Now the singtel BBOM speed is getting worse day by day... specially at evening. When i try to browse, it keeps on crawling and doing speedtest or download is even more pathetic... Getting download speed of 30kbps for 2mbps plan... Is this what bandwidth sharing like to be ? Dial up connection was better than this Mobile Broadband....complain almost like everyday... still no solution... Where we can go and complain more, we need the value of our money for the service...
I hope singtel employees will have a look at this post...
