I am one of the suffering user of Singtel BBOM. Now the singtel BBOM speed is getting worse day by day... specially at evening. When i try to browse, it keeps on crawling and doing speedtest or download is even more pathetic... Getting download speed of 30kbps for 2mbps plan... Is this what bandwidth sharing like to be ? Dial up connection was better than this Mobile Broadband....complain almost like everyday... still no solution... Where we can go and complain more, we need the value of our money for the service...
I hope singtel employees will have a look at this post...

Anyway, at the end of the day, a shared access is still one with 'Best effort' deliverance of service. Which is why it is priced cheaper than ur fixed bb.

cos at the end of this month my contract expires and i'm going to combine it with my dad's name to get 30% all the plans, thought i might upgrade but gonna take your advice and keep the savings!

Well bottomline is this, the best value for money mobile broadband plan
will be the cheapest plan.

Cos if you get more than you sign up for, its a BONUS.
If you get lagging speed than you sign up for, you dun feel so heart pain
cos you know that others who sign up more expensive plans are having
the same damn speed as yours.

Mobile broadband is not a replacement for fixed line broadband services.
So, use it for the better purpose of Messengers, email checking, quick
website checks for projects, or work. For Bit Torrent, spare the mobile
broadband services.

Anyone have issues loading multiple webpages (like 4 pages) simultaneously with FireFox? I have such issues with M1 and not sure if Starhub has the samme issues. Could it be the limitation of mobile BB or the implementation of M1?

More likely to be due to M1's servers' problems, either the DNS server or the image cache server.

I think every ISP will have problems with slow speed, high lag, DC, etc. Question is, which ISP can address and minimise these faults the best. IMO I can only say about Starhub as I've not yet used other ISPs before. I might switch to M1 for the time being while waiting for OpenNet.

Today i called up Singtel again, the CSO tell me lots of crap. Say reset my line, change modem for me, will call me back. All is crap.

Today i told him, i wanna request to change to 4Mbps. You don't come charge me downgrade fee. Tell me call back 3 days later to see if plan downgraded a not.

Do u guys think i should call back tomorrow?

Simple, start a large file download at around 5:30pm, one that will take more than an hour (preferrably 2), and see how it starts slowing down from 6pm onwards.
Then test again at around 1am to see how the speed increases from around 1:30 or 2am onwards.

Hi, I am using M1 mobile BB. Also having probs loading pages THROUGHOUT the day. Only once in a while will it gives smooth loading. Really very disappointed with the quality of service M1 provides. Haiz.....

Singtel mobile BB is getting from bad to worst. I am using a business plan 2MB, complaining is a pain , CS can tell me full of craps and bulls stories. The qualities of the BB is crawling like max 3Kps for both upload and download in Orchard Road. Singtel cannot even handle normal BB user than why push MIO or even start MIO. The customer service is also very poor. This is also reflects on the service of Singapore,giving others a bad impression. I once met a Korean friend he tells me look you call this fast , have you not been to Korea?

usually off-peak hrs are smooth. but there was 1 day when it unusually was very very slow. i tolerated with it for more than an hour .. but i was so frustated that i d/c the modem, then try connecting again. to my surprise, the speed was up.. but of coz, during peak hrs, it's ALWAYS slow..

I get max speed on M1 7.2 Mbps at around 1000 to 1500 or so

But at peak hour it WILL drop...... but i can still MW 2 without much delay

Ok, i tried doing Network load balancing with 2x HSDPA modem (7.2Mbps modem with M1 1Mbps + 3.6Mbps modem with starhub Unknown speed... i guess 7.5Mbps) with Windows XP sp3.

Managed to combine for a while, but very soon (Within sec) 1 of the line will get disconnected.

Heard linux NLB will work out of the box, maybe i shall try in the virtual PC.

Any comments are welcome...
