Based on what others on 2Mbps plan have been getting, you should be able to get more than 1.5Mbps - but again, it depends on where you are.
Just look at the other testimonials for M1BB... for instance MarineX at Depot Road (which is probably nearest to Bukit Merah out of all the testimonials) could get 1Mbps on his 1Mbps plan. So it really shouldn't be too far from that.

Better double-check and make sure your area (or somewhere really nearby) has got at least a relatively good testimonial. Else, you're venturing into uncharted territory.
I always subscribe to this idea - it's easier to upgrade than to downgrade, so always take the lowest possible plan first.

Still no ST users on high-end plans submitting their testimonials...

i can assured u that starhub MBB is very slow; range of 8-55kbps from 7pm to 12am. i suspect they throttle the BW, cause at early 12am i will always get a speed boost.

7.2mbps plan here

Could be due to heavy mobile usage as well, since it's all using the same infrastructure. Like how SMSes don't get through on the stroke of midnight during CNY, New Year's Day etc.

Physical location? You should run it against the Singapore server, as we need to see how good the infrastructure is.

it could probably be. but i notice the speed doesnt increase incrementally but. a sudden boost after a specific time. i just need to narrow it down

It could also be the telco simply putting in pre-defined policies in which priorities are shifted at various times.
Don't think any of the telco tech staff would be allowed to reveal policies like that anyway, so we can only speculate.

That's why I'm really wondering whether he did it IN HK or against the HK server.
