I just upgraded my Singtel 2mbps plan to their high end 7.2mbps plan and DID NOT see ANY difference in download/upload speed. I even called them to check if they have activated my 7.2mbps plan, to my horror, they said YES! I called in 4 times yesterday to complain of the poor download speed and they say they will reset my line lah...this and that lah. All did not solve the slow speed problem until they give up and give me one month free service for me to "monitor". I will be going back to my 2mbps plan soon and to those wanting to try high end plan, my advice is dun waste your time and money. BTW those curious of my numbers open your eyes and say WOW! 0.56 download...so much for a high end plan. To be fair to Singtel I test the speed 10 times at different times of the day and NEVER did it exceeded 2.3mbps. They took my money but can't deliver the goods. Suks!!
Kovan / 2Mbps / 2Mbps / ? / xthene / It is fast in the morning, download speed can be as fast as 240kbps. However, in the night, can be as slow as 800 bps....
Sengkang / 4Mbps / 1.25Mbps / ? / carverstone / -
Just gotten a Maxmobile Basic today. What's the apn for postpaid customers?
I tried shinternet and shppd (for prepaid). Speedtest seems more responsive on shppd?
Why did you signup for Maxmobile BASIC? there's this 30GB data cap (same as singnet) if you read the fine print...
The settings for Starhub are:
Connection/APN name: StarHub Internet
Access point name: shwapint
Username: None
Password: None
Authentication: Normal
The 30GB cap does not matter. Will have trouble hitting 5GB. Just need a simple, working internet connection for email and work.
With a home broadband connection, not many people will even hit 20GB.
BTW, I tried APN "sunsurf" and the thing still works. So I guess the setting doesn't matter?

what a naive thought, it is probably one's one day usage only...............![]()

Check speedtest at 11am at sengkang. 7.2 mbps plan, D/L 0.38mbps, U/L 0.29mbps. Singtel BBOM. I am a very SATISFIED customer.

Sometimes when I run of ideas for what 4D numbers to buy, I simply run a speedtest and Singtel never fail me. I just need to combine the DL and UL speed and there you go....4D number for the week. For instance, from my earlier post above, DL 0.38mbps, UL0.29mbps, the result will be 3829.

do update here if your speed improve.
i am under the old contract for my bbom vas for my mobile. i have multi-sim. so, my notebooks is sharing the bbom vas. the old contract is 1mbps for 50gb, abt $20. this plan is no longer available for bbom vas (which they call surf on mobile now). only available for data bbom (which they call surf on laptop now). i have never exceed 10gb. i was thinking to upgrade to their surf on mobile premium (7.2mbps 10gb $14.95 12-mths contract) or surf on mobile platinum (7.2mbps 30gb $19.95 12-mths contract).
once changed plan, i know i will not able to go back the the current plan (1mbps for 50gb). i don't really need 50gb. i do however appreciate if the speed can improve from 1mbps to 7.2mbps (or evern 70% of it).
anyone experience higher speed on singtel bbom (be it surf on mobile or laptop)?
