so far all the mobile broadbands have high ping of 100 and above right? Is there any isp that can provide a ping of below 100ms if I do not wan a fixed line?

M1 mobile bb had instances of gg below 100ms, but it's very rare. Mobile bb technology ping will always be quite high de ba.. No other option besides fixed line for low ping

All 3 mbb provider can do icmp ping below 100ms easily what.
If you're refering to the speedtest latency value, its over higher layer level, and the transparent proxy oso(if applicable)

figure out why M1 mbb is having refresh problem on surfing
its the connection to their DNS server is slow
sometimes there is a timeout with one of the 2 DNS server
this will also cause surfing to be a problem which could lead to unable to surf at all

other than that, downloading still ok

2 causes for M1BB in general - DNS server and their image proxies.
Either they're using too low spec'ed servers, or they're really being overwhelmed.

I use mobile internet mainly for trading and charting so stability is quite important. Any traders can recommend whether your current provider is good?

Your location? That's a good speed, especially considering that was done at 6:30pm.

I am getting really ****ty speeds at home from Singtel bbom. Like 0.5mbps down and 0.3mbps up. But I'm tethering from my Omnia 2, is this normal? Timing was around 11pm - 1am, with hsdpa signal showing on my phone.

Not sure abt Omnia 2... But I get about 1.4Mbps down and 300kbps up normally. Max was 4.8Mbps down... On M1 iPhone..

Hmmm, Jurong West's getting fairly good speeds nowadays, though the common problem of slowdown during peak hours remains consistent with the other 2 telcos in most areas.

elementalfusion, I don't think it's a phone problem, considering I have used my Samsing i617 and my wife's previous Samsung G800 to try M1BB before, and I was able to hit my plan limit of 1Mbps.
