HT-EM4 is single channel? What does channel bonding mean or how is that enabled?

The one I are looking at is single channel. Hitron Moca 2.5 can go up to 2.5 Gbps with channel bonding. I have this confirmed with the manufacturer

tldr, HT-EM4 can deliver speed up to 2.5 Gbps within its MoCA network.

1) HT-EM4 is a MoCA 2.5 standard Adapter. 1 channel can deliver 500Mbps. To achieve 2.5 Gbps, MoCA 2.5 bonds 5 adjacent channels together.

I use WiFi as an example. Wireless AC theoretically can hit 433mbps per spatial stream. But How do it achieve more than that speed? Same method, to increase the number of spatial stream running at the same time.

2) Channel Bonding is automatic. Just buy the MoCA adapter, plug and play. No configuration required.

manyu882: Are the Hitron MoCA 2.5 being shipped from China? I acutally live in China (but read this forum). Is it possible to ship to China from China? This saves me paying the duty. Thanks.

Ok. Confirm no sales restriction. I have already signup for the Mass Order Sub-forum. Pending for their approval.

i have no idea what frequency. singtel tv is supposed to work with their wifi mesh through its ethernet connection.

MoCA D band utilises 1125 to 1675Mhz. If your ST STB injects any frequency out of this range, they can co-exist.

hi..
call singtel, all they said was if there is internet connect through converted coaxial points. the st stb will work. i am skeptical here.

how do i explain to them about this moca d band frequencies and what frequencies st stb uses. i got reply like channel 5 is using this or that frequencies.

there is a scv box in my living room which looks like where the main scv cable splits into my room, could that be where i put in the poe filter.

thanks....

Interest check:

Looks like a lot of people are interested in MoCA 2.5.
If I do a Mass Order for Hitron MoCA 2.5. Limit to 46 units, Free ship to your doorstep. You all interested?

Hitron MoCA 2.5 product info : http://www.hitrontech.com/ap/product/ht-em4/
Use the same chipset as GoCoax (which is MaxLinear)

1 MoCA Adapter = S$98 (~70 USD)
2 MoCA Adapters or more = S$92 Each (~65 USD Each)
Optional to get 1 MoCA Filter for S$5

If Buy a pair from GoCoax is 145 USD - ship to your doorstep.
If Buy MO is 130 USD - also ship to your doorstep.
how do i use these moca adapters to set up s stb in living room and another in one bed room, and have internet connection in second room.

i see only one ethernet port? so how do i inject fiber into this unit and still be able to connect to s stb to hdmi to tv in the living room?

any advice will be appreciated.

Do the Hitron and Gocoax have the same output? The Gocoax specsheet doesn't say much.

This is from the Hitron specsheet:

• PHY Rate: 700 Mbps (Baseline Mode)
• Throughput: 400+Mbps (Baseline Mode) / 500+Mbps
(Turbo Mode, Point to Point Configuration) Per channel

So this means max 500+ Mbps per pair of adapters? How do you read the 700 Mbps cap?

so u have reservation on Hitron or Gocoax ?
or u have decided which one?

heard actiontec is good but $$$$$$$

Maybe you could just post what's the model or specs of the ST STB?

I have for Hitron. Now waiting for people to sound their interest.

Actiontec is $$ because $$ is also spent on advertising. Just a google search you can find many sponsored reviews/videos. Almost all sponsored Ads will make the product looks good.

The price of GoCoax likely to increase further trust me. The chipset for MoCA 2.5 is not cheap as compared to 2.0. RRP should be at least US$80:s22:

? In the diagram,

1. The internet would be the FTP, which will be connected to the ( ONR ) router/modem which is in the living room where a coaxial point is at.

A tv is then connected to st stb via hdmi and the st stb to the router/modem via rj45 lan. there is a connection that is left open, would that also be a ethernet port.

2. Because, in all the other rooms, the tv would also be connected to st stb via hdmi, and st stb box to moca ethernet port through rj45.

Did i read the diagram correctly. Thanks.

EDITED...

Looks like I am incorrect. The ethernet in rooms would be connected to st. stb and there after to tv through hdmi. Which begs the question, how do i connect to computer directly in the rooms.

The MoCA Adapter has only one 1 Ethernet port. If you need more ethernet ports, you must get a switch or a router(to act as a switch)

Interested in this. Just need more info on the product. Is this comparable to GoCoax in term of performance? The power adapter will be UK or EU pin?
