If in hk go chunking mansion in tst to change. Its the equivalent of sg's arcade of money changers. The rates are very similar to sg but you need to walk ard as the rates vary differently.

usually go to these three money changers, which I find offer the best rates in town.

1) Chinatown (near the MRT exit, just spot the perpetually long queue)
2) Mustafa (which also has their rates published online)
3) Suntec (near the escalator, opposite Giordano if memory serves)

if you are around Raffles Place area, the money changers at Arcade offer pretty competitive rates too!

Changed at 100 SIN to 600 HKD. However, since I have brought my last time changed RMB there, changed at 100 SIN to 500 RMB last time. Hence, a bit more worth it. Managed to change 500 RMB for 635 HKD.

Please note that most smaller stalls are not accepting 1K note.
Even Sweet Dynasty is not accepting 1K note from Bank of China.
This is because there are 1K counterfeit note circulating now.
