Ordered from eBay redcap. The panel was in sg since 21 may. But it has been stuck at speedpost since. I just called them this afternoon and they say will deliver within 24hrs. Don't know how true is that.

Yah .... 1 of my monitor reached S'pore on 20 May and was delivered to me on 21 May 2012 about 7pm+. This one is fast.

Whereas the other monitor ... shows this.

Guys..
I know there's this popular seller "HAPPY MALL" that sells the PCBANK monitor with zero dead pixel at $380.
Now.. I do understand that the crossOver looks better and ya guys get it for $435. Does the seller guarantee perfect pixel for this? Can anyone post the link? Sorry this thread is kinda long and I've got an information overload :p

I almost decided to buy from Happy Mall because the price is the cheapest.

Buying stuffs online has it's risk ... so if we wanna buy ... we have to be prepared for the worst.

2 reason why I chose CrossOver over the rest :

1. I wanted Pivot stand (only CrossOver has it)
2. CrossOver are the most expensive range

For point 2 ... my own personal thoughts are that .... now ... if you are the monitor manufacturer ... and you have thousands of this 27" S-IPS panels.

Assuming the panels are classify from best to the normal ones. Now you are going to put all this on the monitor frames that you have. So would you install the best panels on cheapest or most expensive models that you have?

Now if the most expensive model has a even more expensive model with pivot stand. Which panel grade would you install it with?

But this is my own conclusion lah ... it may or may not be factual lah.

That's a fair conclusion. So, does this crossOver seller guarantee no dead pixels.. and secondly, may I have the link? Thanks!

I bought the PC Bank from Happy Mall and yes, it's no dead pixel guarantee.

OK ... do some review ...

I have gotten 2 set of the CrossOver 27Q LED-Pivot model.

1. Screen is fantastic

2. The pivot stand is not as good as the Dell's pivot stand but acceptable

3. Apparently, the brightness control varies from 1 set to another. I gotten 2 set and when I press down for brightness for both monitor, 1 of them appears dimmer than the other.

Anybody know any way that we could use some software to dim the display further?

4. I was lucky, the 1st set I received should be perfect panel (as far as I can see). But the 2nd set, should have 1 dead pixel.

I use this site to test and check :
LCD Dead Pixel Test Backgrounds

5. Ordered on 17 May 2012. 1st set - Received on 21 May 2012 (Monday) and 2nd set on 22 May 2012 (Tuesday).

That's about all.

Question is, if the dead pixel isn't too obvious and even if the seller guarantees no dead pixels, would you bother sending it back for an exchange?

personally i wouldn't.

Yah .. finally. It is not obvious at all, the position is 45deg from the centre and about 12" from the centre of the screen.

I didn't noticed it at all until I run the test, then I noticed it.

Well.. what I would think is that if the seller guarantees no dead pixels, you can pretty much be sure that there will be no OBVIOUS dead pixels.

At least that's more of an assurance rather than just getting it blindly and then experiencing a few defects in the centre of the screen.
I ordered from Dell before.. a 20" 1600x1200 square monitor over 6yrs ago. Came with 1 sub-pixel. Not obvious at all. Depends on the ppi of the screen as well. We're looking at a high resolution display here, so 1 pixel doesn't take up much visual space.
Of course... then there are those perfectionists...

2 behemoths.. you're running side by side? It's gonna be a visual treat! :s22:

Would you know if the non-pivot model is height-adjustable?
Also, is the screen is matte or glossy?

very new to this range of IPS panels, can i ask for the 27 inch models, is crossover the best one?
i don't need speakers, don't need swivel, tilt etc. would there be an even better valued one?

also, are there 30inch IPS screens too?

I mean .. if I were to buy Dell U2711 ... then of course I would expect perfect panel for that price.

We expect according to how much we paid, relative to the market price.

Yah man ... side by side. Once you go with dual monitor ... it is very hard to switch back to single monitor. Unless you are those graphic design or draft men.

ONLY the pivot version is height adjustable. So for all the rest ... you have to get something to be placed under the base to lift it higher.

The screen are glossy, so best if you don't placed the monitor with the window behind you.
