For those who are curious, this is how large the monitors are. I bought 2 of the normal non pivot ones. They were sent by EMS, makes one wonder how cheap exactly are these lcds in korea. Ordered on Saturday early morning, sent out on Monday, delivered by singpost to me on Wednesday evening.
Currently I'm using a pretty old HD4600 series, with only one DVI-DUALLINK port. Upon booting, the signal was received no problem you can see the monitor load the bios, go into windows 7 no problem. I was running dual dells, took out one to put the crossover, somehow win7 decided to switch the crossover to the primary display, but that's a minor thing.
You will not be able to see the dead pixels without using a program to check. I tried several checking softwares to search for a dead pixel, in the end I used the same one as i1magic, and found one dead pixel after looking very hard for it.
As many people have verified, the screen itself is indeed super fantastic for it's price. This is an A- class screen. To be honest, you get what you paid for, you can't adjust the height of the stand, the build quality is not very good (the white portion at the back of the lcd is made of steel, which I suspect is to dissipate heat), and you get a huge adaptor which I think is proprietary (not too sure about that).
But I must add again. It is VERY cheap for a 27" 2560X1440. I tried to run diablo, it is really nice. Of course the game runs extremely choppy with my old card.
I have not tried dismantling the back, but there are holes for you to unscrew the mount from the lcd. Probably to have a vesa mount.
The only gripe I have about it is that running at such high resolutions on a 27" is too taxing on my aging eyes. True story.
