I went ahead to SLT again earlier today and after visiting few shops i finally found one (B1-25) that was willing to attempt the swap

The little component is a surface mount ceramic capacitor, there is no coding on it to tell what value but we somewhat agreed that swapping with another similar size one to test. Google/wiki also says same thing for general troubleshooting, however the sizes are in mm so it is quite inaccurate i guess

Anyway, everything work again when i put the board back - leave it to play movie for an hour or so. So far so good

In case someone else might find this useful

Do keep us updated 1 month, 6 months after. Glad that you managed to find somebody to do it.

How much did they charge you?

Hi guys , Possible to shed some light on exactly which model to get?

QX2710 LED Evolution ll Off-grade [Matte] This is $269 on qoo10 by seller accesorieswhole.

But googling it says that off grade models are more likely to have dead pixels.
How true is this?
Is accesorieswhole a reliable seller? :D

all of the korean monitors are all have panels that are rated A- batch. which means some of the panels have dead/bright/suck pixels, while some lucky ones do not have. its main reason why this monitors are so cheap.

accessorieswhole is a reliable seller, i got my crossover from there

Yes based on luck. But so far quite lucky that mine came with no dead pixels yet. Phew. Got few others bought after me already have dead pixels. lol.

And please do not buy the pixel perfect quality. Not that the pixel perfect quality is gone thru torture test for a few hours to make sure there is no dead pixels. But there is no guaranty that the pixel lifespan is still there after the torture test.

Bought qnix at 274$. No dead pixel also. One of the best investment so far.

Ebay over priced as their main customers are from EU and US. Qoo10 is reliable.

So you would pay $90 for a perfect pixel panel that has exactly the same chances of having smudges?

Is it possible to use a dell stand for the QX2710? It uses a vesa mount also right?

PP model only +$90? But u r better off getting the Evo II SE, not off grade model.

PP gt higher chances of getting dead pixels than normal models, as per users reporting in OCN.

Possible to use a VESA stand on ur monitor, need not be Dell. Foubt they sell separately unless u got an old monitor dat is alrdy dead. Otheriwse, 3rd party is good and maybe cheaper.

My crossover is still working fine, but I'm glad to know other brands have caught up in terms of the number of inputs and price :D

I got 2 CrossOver about 3yrs ago. One of them has a faulty LED driver board in late Jan 2014 (about 1.5yrs after I got it). Paid about SGD$60 for a replacement and been using it since.

Wah .... time flies. It's almost 3yrs since I got this 2 monitors.
