The disconnection of my PURE 100Mbps could be during the transition period of changing the ONT because I noticed there is red light on the Alarm on the new ONT at the beginning.

So could be the timing that Opennet disconnect your old line after they changed the new ONT. Thats why got red light on the new ont. Just nice opennet activated the new line in a few mins.

If thats the case, why can't the FE changed first and call his sup to check with opennet? Worry the old connection won't be dc for unforesee days so no internet access?

I think if the FE changed first, you would not have any Internet connection till OpenNet do the patching on their end.

I'm actually prepared for downtime at worse whole of today. Unless they tell me opennet didn't follow today schedule.

If need to reschedule again, it will be the 2nd time. I understand this is not Mr fault but come on, 2 time reschedule is not funny. I took leave today

lets say, what if FE changed for u first, and coincidentally, ON decided to not follow sch. and dragged it for another day, you'll be w/o access for 2 days. will you blame the FE for unplugging u b4 the line is ready ?

food for thought :s22:

Agree with your statement but I'm not sure if MR got remind opennet of the schedule for the day so if opennet forget, it will serve as a reminder.
Anyway my ont has just been disconnected. The Mr fe will come back again in the evening as he say high chance down a few hours as need to wait for opennet to splice the new connection

Thanks.
Yah.. at least the 'ping' has been detected, suspecting from that black box from MH370..

Our case is still in the black hole... :(
Still same till now.. hmm.. I dont NAS or do massive networking... but whatsapp..up load pict..these are basic..

As I opt for beta, I like to help but HOW?

Same for me I don't do any heavy networking stuff. Spyder may I suggest one very novice method that sometimes might work.. I did that once and I am not sure is it because of it my upload problem got solved. I actually switch off the power supply for the router and ont and wait for abt 5 mins and then on the supply back again and waited for abt 15 mins and tried Speedtest again. I dun noe can this method help you but worth a try.

Hi guys, I've just been surfing this thread while waiting for MR technician to come install my fibre connection today (9-1pm). I'm switching over from a Starhub cable connection. Can someone tell me what are the things I should look out for? Thanks a lot!

I sent an email to MR before my installation date to ensure that the installation date is being communicated to both MR FE and OpenNet as a form of proof.

You are switching from Starhub CABLE not fibre right?

Just ensure that you test the Internet connection on the following:

1. Direct connection from ONT to your PC (if possible)
2. Wired connection via router to your PC
3. Wireless connection on your devices

Yes yes from cable. ONT is the thing opennet installed into my wall right? Ok thanks!

Nope, the thing that OpenNet installed on your wall is called Termination Point (TP).

ONT is the modem which is provided by the ISPs/RSPs.

If you are switching from cable, then it should be quite straightforward. OpenNet just need to activate Port 1 of the TP.
