many of us had the same issue.

I factory rested the router and yes the download speed goes up to 900+Mbps. However that is tested without me configuring the router at all. I believe once we set wireless settings, the download will decrease to 300+Mbps right? If yes then how are we going to configure wireless settings without affecting download speed

Mine as well, after hard reset, the download speed increased and even after configure, the speed did not decrease.

Are the both of u using ac68u? If yes what is the firmware u all using? I using Merlin alpha firmware

What wireless security settings have you guys reconfigured to on the ac68u? I changed both 2.4GHz and 5GHz to WPA2 and the throughput dropped like a stone. After factory resetting and disabling the WiFi (using the side button on the router), throughput shoots back up.

I can't be absolutely sure this is only change that affects the throughput though. I won't have time to test it extensively anytime soon.

Quick Update on known issues

Hi everyone, here're the known issues on our 1Gbps so far:

1. Android uploading and other issues - fixed. If you're still facing problems with android devices on our 1Gbps, please let us know.
2. Difficulty surfing certain websites - being fixed. This should be sorted out within a few days (many who are facing issues with this should have already seen an improvement).
3. Can't hit 1Gbps on Speedtest - multiple causes.
   a. Wireless on several ASUS routers - we're currently working with ASUS to correct this problem.
   b. Software interfering with speeds - we've identified some software that is throttling speeds on the network, including Killer Ethernet, QOS.
   c. Misc hardware / setting issues - we're putting a basic infographic together to help with this

Let me know if we missed anything out, or if you experience anything contrary to what I described as fixed. Thanks!

My installation is scheduled for next week, however I would very much like to know whether you guys are looking into the issues many on the 1gb plan are facing in regards to VPN. It seems there is another thread regarding this issue but it doesn't seem to be getting any attention from the MR reps.

Hi Pirvan, is your VPN on PPTP?

I am on MR 1Gbps with static IP, and OpenVPN works perfectly fine for me.

I have not tested out PPTP though (I don't use it as it is no longer secure, though I understand many offices and companies still use it).

I requested to cancel my 1gbps as there is no confirm installation date..did it via facebook.

Gave my full name,ic,phone number,email address..i was asked where i signed and told them online via the website..told then i received the emails and calls

Then i was asked to provide screenshot of all the communication above whch i did.

Signed up on 14 Feb...received the calls and emails etc and now can't seem to find my order?

Hi YKK (sorry, can't type out your full nick without laughing)

It seems my company doesn't want us to use PPTP and i'm currently using OpenVPN.

I know some of the guys are able to get OpenVPN to work with Static IP, was just wondering if Johnnny and his team are working on a solution without the need for static. at this moment, doesn't make sense for me to pay additional for a quick fix.

I can't seem to get pass 500 download with N56U

Almost bought AC68U today, but thought I would update the firmware and see what happens. Done that and speed got WORSE

Uploading folders to box is not bad.. I get around 120-160Mbps...

CPU usage is quite high though when uploading.. around 35-40% under windows 8.1

Downloading with bitshare is amazingly fast too.. just 8x connections with IDM

Ok, I factory reset the router a while ago and manually re-enter the wireless and port forward settings on my ac68u. Like what some bros stated, my speed through router is able to maintain at down 900+ and up 400+.

Finally got my internet up and running from fiasco yesterday. Apparently when the technician came, the Opennet TP says no signal. Luckily my neighbour was having his fibre installation at the same time so Opennet guys were already here and solved it. Can't imagine the nightmare of having to wait a few more months. Crazy inefficient system.

My problem now is, my house has always had this problem of not being able to get wifi from master bedroom (router is in living room). Before changing, we used a homeplug to extend the wifi and it worked ok. I'm still using it now because no choice, but the problem is it's incredibly slow - around 30mbps. How can I get it to run faster? I read that the max wifi speed is 80 mbps, is that true? It's really irritating to have to LAN just to get decent internet, but a slight improvement to 80 mbps is better than none.

I would recommend trunking the entire house. 200-300+. Used for at least 10-20years.
