Yes, know a bit of networking.
4 wired notebook will share the wired bandwidth and 4 wireless will share the bandwidth (wireless). Even all 8 notebooks go video streaming also sufficient for video streaming. Wired connection > 100Mbps for sure. Wireless router good one is 450Mbps and for N56U is 300Mbps. Wifi performance vary. But for most video streaming it will not take up too much bandwidth 30Mbps is more than sufficient.

Watch Hulu, I notice bandwidth used go up and down and it is between 512kbps to 5.5Mbps. Starhub tv anywhere need less than 3.6Mbps as I can watch using my lenovo netbook at NUH using my 3.6Mbps mobile broadband (10Gb data free) bundled with 200Mbps plan.

Some ISP (but not all, ST can not) allow direct connection to ONT like M1 etc but if u have more than 1 device then you need a router to provide the wired, wireless connection and USB ports. For ASUS, they have 4 LAN ports and 2 USB for network printer and storage device. For AC router, 1 usb 3.0 and 1 usb 2.0.

Yes but that is provided you are very sure that you only have 1 PC (with Ethernet adapter) that is using the Internet and not even your mobile phone.

Let me give all that is installing some tips..

1. Make sure the technician is able to show you a working connection on his laptop before he leaves.
2. Test the connection with your PC before the technician leaves.
3. IF you do not get a working connection, make sure you find the reason behind it and get an ETA for things to be resolved before the technician leaves.
4. Get the phone number from them if things don't work.
5. Lastly, Be prepared for few days to few weeks down time , everyone that is signing up should be aware of the delays that's occurring between opennet and the ISPs.
6. Call and rush them if things don't work.

I saw this in a thread called "MR 1Gbps connection down".

Hi all,

I'm encountering problems with MR 1gbps this evening. The optical light on the ONT is lighted as RED and the Pots is blinking in green.

Spoke to the live chat at abt 6pm and have advise to await for 1 hour before rebooting. However, after reboot, it's still not working!

Couldn't get thru via phone to the support and been waiting.

Anyone knows what's wrong?
